MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - The Memphis Black Lives Matter rally shut down the I-40 bridge Sunday night with hundreds of protesters refusing to leave. Traffic could not go across, but paramedic Bobby Harrell with Crittenden EMS was determined to get to a child who was stuck on the bridge with his family.
"We received a call there was a child needing medical attention stuck in traffic up on the bridge and due to the protest going on the bridge the family was not able to get through traffic to get him to Le Bonheur,” Harrell said.
A photo shows parents handing the child off to paramedics on the bridge.
"The sheriff's department had to escort us up the wrong way of the interstate to the child," he said.
Harrell said after he had the very sick child in the ambulance, the driver had to go 25 minutes out of the way.
"We had to turn around and come back to West Memphis and cross over at MLK to get over to 55."
Then from I-55, they headed to Le Bonheur Children's hospital. Harrell said he knew about the protest on the bridge, so he had a contingency plan to take patients to Arkansas hospitals and fly critical patients to Memphis. He didn't plan to end up on the bridge.
"It was kind of tense. I really didn't know what to expect going up there."
Harrell said he got the child to Le Bonheur just in time. The child’s father stayed with the family’s car and was eventually able to get there.

That was so wrong. The child could have died. So bad...heartless people. Killing those who had nothing to do with their grievance.

Blocking a highway is a criminal act. Any death caused by a criminal act is, by definition, Murder in the First Degree...
Bring charges against the organizers of the Black Lives Murder protest with felony child endangerment.
This very Mass cannot and should NOT EVER be labeled by the media, the politicians, the pundits and assorted "leaders" as a "peaceful marching group" or a "a demonstration of First Amendment Rights".
But they are referred to as such all day long on the news.
The seething organic Mass, whether situated on a bridge or a highway or a city square, is a waiting-to-happen Killing Machine filled with pawns, riff-raff and know-nothings who surround and provide cover for the infiltrated shooters, destroyers, arsonists, rioters, rock throwers, looters and blockers-of-movement who are planted in their midst.
The human bodies in the Mass use "peaceful protest" as semantic cover to operate at will as an organic Riot Machine.
All of the participants are criminals, aiders and abettors in these modern-day Trojan Horses which undoubtedly will be coming soon to a city near you.

They stopped traffic during a heat wave in Phoenix. There were a dozen horses stuck in their trailers for hours. The cops finally got them turned around.
They don’t care about anything but their propaganda.
There was a good video on FR the other day showing how to handle a sudden blockade of people.
Keep slow steady progress with the vehicle and as they slide off to the sides, accelerate hard.
It helps to have a truck or SUV with a tall front to keep them upright until they slide to the side.
An “Illinois Nazis” plow would have been justified.
