INDIANAPOLIS - Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate Baron Hill says he's withdrawing from the race. His name will not appear on the November ballot.
Hill's withdrawal opens the door for Evan Bayh, who - according to CNN - is expected to enter the race.

Also Evvie must have gotten the final thumbs down from the Clinton Crime Family on his VP hopes.
[I wonder what this is all about? Evan Bayh quit politics a few years ago, but now he wants back in? Hill quits to let Bayh run?]
Justifying BAYH as a VP, especially if TRUMP picks PENCE as his VP.
I’d say just the opposite.
Evvie got the word from the Clintons he’s got no chance.
Hillary needs a minority VP to bring out the ‘hood vote.
Yes TODD YOUNG
Who was Nikk and my congressman He not only got a new much needed bridge built across the Ohio at Louisville. He got two built ! Very competent!
BAM!
People in IN (Hoosiers) really like anything Bayh; he could handily win this on Mrs. Bill’s skirt-tails if needed.
Exactly. Hill had “loser” written all over him. The last time he tried to run, I think for Governor against Mitch Daniels, he lost badly.
The Dems are trying to get the Senate back, and if Bayh wins the election, it will be the first time Indiana has had two democrat senators since Vance Hartke and Bayh’s dad, Birch, in 1976.
Hillary will be the last White Democrat to ever win the Democratic nomination. Hell, Joe Biden might be the last White Democrat VP.
That is what they did in NJ when Torrecelli got indicted
Given that Gregg (D) in Indiana isn't running strongly, it may also give the Indiana GOP an excuse to replace Pence, who was struggling more than he should be in retaining his governor's seat. Pence has not handled a few legislative things well in the past year or so, and the Dems thought they could run anyone with a heartbeat and win the governor's seat.
The Dems probably might win with a decent gov candidate, but fat boy walrus Gregg is a soft target for negative adverts.
It probably helps our side that under the new Dem mayor of Indy, shootings are up 25% in the first 6 months, and last week his kid got arrested for drugged driving, and his “spokesman” tried to run over a woman in his car.
The bridge Baron Hill was completely incapable of building !
Name recognition by the democrat voters.
Playing on his family name, gets a better poll results, gets the nomination over the rejected (but selected one!) in the primaries and earlier campaigns.
A frequent demo propaganda play: In CA, one not-a-Mexican changed her name to “Sanchez” in a medium-Mexican district. And she defeated a long-time repubbie who failed to recognize and respond in time.
Tell that to George Soros
Bayh wants to be the Democratic Presidential candidate in 2020 in the event of a Trump victory, and figures if he takes too long a time-out of some elected office, Hoosier voters might forget his name and face. And other things....
He still has at least between 10 and 13 million dollars in unused previous campaign funds. Hillary wanted him as a VP possible for that reason, among others, this is a way for him to avoid going down with her slowly- sinking ship.
To put it lightly, the project is kind of a big deal. Its currently one of the nations largest transportation projects, and when all 12 additional lanes open to traffic in December, it will be the first time in 50 years that drivers have had a new bridge in Louisville. The two new bridges the project is creating across the Ohio River will double current traffic capacity.
*The only things that can destroy an Indiana politician are to be caught in bed with a dead girl or a live boy....*-- former AP managing editor Kent Cooper, writing newspaper columns as *D.C. Speaker* just prior to WWII.
That was back when Senior Bayh Birch's wife Marvella was still alive, before her death from cancer. Though Birch served only as Senator and never as governor, she was the state's First Lady in every sense of the term.
History does not exactly echo, but sometimes, it rhymes. A year or so ago when Hillary first came nosing around attempting to pressgang Evan into the slot as her VP, he begged off noting his wife's medical problems. It seems that situation has changed.
