DEVELOPING: Dallas police headquarters were placed on high alert Saturday due to an anonymous threat, two days after a sniper ambushed and shot 12 officers, killing five of them.
Dallas police confirmed in a written statement that they had "received an anonymous threat against law enforcement across the city and has taken precautionary measures to heightened security."
Maj. Thomas Castro told the Associated Press several general threats have been made against Dallas police, though nothing specific.
The Dallas Morning News, citing a police source, reported that a lockdown was in effect shortly before 6 p.m. local time. There were no immediate reports of any violence. WFAA reported that the threat was made by a group from Houston that claimed to be armed.
Dallas Police Department spokeswoman Sr. Cpl. Monica Cordova called the measures precautionary.
An armored vehicle was moved to near the department's downtown headquarters late Saturday afternoon and heavily armed officers carrying rifles were seen walking nearby. Police shut down a street in front of the department's headquarters, but members of the public were still able to walk about freely around the building.

They’re opening the champagne and caviar and reminiscing of the good old days and if only they were younger...
I tell you what...It’s not a good time to be screwing around with the police right now.....
Naturally, the media will disclaim BLM or Black Panther involvement even if the evidence is right in front of them. They’ll just attribute it to some “lone wolf”.
Does anyone know what is happening to the other terrorists detained by the police?
I see Obama and company are into the “lone wolf” narrative, refusing to recognize this was a coordinated terrorist event.
They need to be tied to a stake and horse whipped....
False flag
They probably let them go, since Micah Johnson the shooter was the only shooter.
Well, I hope you don’t blame them for taking cautious measures?
There's an investigation ongoing. The cops are probably not going to tell you, or anyone, that sort of thing right now.
If you're talking about the people with the Mercedes, it turned out they were picking a relative up at the bus station. The duffel bag was luggage.
Looks like it’s in cleanup mode at that garage.
Sure didn’t seem that way from hearing the shots and how the police went down.
No disrespect to DPD but we are all starting to look like delicate little flowers post shooting. Too many weeping citizens. Too many stuffed animals and way way too many references to "police officers" "RUNNING TO NOT AWAY FROM THE GUNFIRE" - well, yeah, that's their job. As well, IMO, the DPD was not there to "protect the protesters right to protest" as much as they SHOULD have been there to protect the general public and the general public's property from looters and violent criminals.
We have become a nation of millenials and wannabe millenials - snoflake little pussies who will do anything to avoid making the call to go to war against that which is right in front of our face
The answer:
The Knoxville riot of 1919 was a race riot that took place in Knoxville, Tennessee, United States, on August 3031, 1919. The riot began when a lynch mob stormed the county jail in search of Maurice Mays, a mulatto man who had been accused of murdering a white woman. Unable to find Mays, the rioters looted the jail and fought a pitched gun battle with the residents of a predominantly black neighborhood. The Tennessee National Guard, which at one point fired two machine guns indiscriminately into this neighborhood, eventually dispersed the rioters.[1] Newspapers placed the death toll at just two, though eyewitness accounts suggest it was much higher.
The Riot of 1919 was one of several violent racial incidents that occurred during the so-called Red Summer, when race riots plagued cities across the United States. The riot was one of the worst racial episodes in Knoxville’s history, and shattered the city’s vision of itself as a racially tolerant Southern town. After the riot, many black residents left Knoxville, and racial violence continued to flare up sporadically in subsequent years
