How anyone can fault this discussion Newt had with Van Jones is appalling. Even V Jones acknowledged that what happened in Dallas was disgraceful. This was a very genuine conversation on a very difficult topic and Newt once again spoke on a level is about solutions with honest dialogue. Trump needs Newt as VP. Newt is very in tune with so many subjects that he will be an asset to the Trump administration.

Thank you for the ping.
I’m fine with who he chooses. Seriously, Trump is his own Man! The VP choice is no big deal to me.I’d rather it be a man, but ,I’ll trust his Judgement. He’s done an excellent job in my opinion so far. GO TRUMP!

Well this is a heated argument about mostly nothing. Talking about democrats from decades ago? Anyway.

According to his wiki page he's got an honorary degree from the Institute_of_World_Politics who's education philosophy is;

As a professional school specializing in the art of statecraft, The Institute of World Politics teaches the use of the various instruments of power. The Institute, however, recognizes that power, like liberty, can be misused and abused, and therefore its use must be accompanied by responsibility. The Institute's educational philosophy is guided by a recognition that education in ethics and civic virtue is a necessary prerequisite to the responsible conduct of statecraft. The Institute believes that current and future leaders must be educated so as to have deep understanding of the nature of peace. The Institute does not have a utopian view of peace. It recognizes that the achievement of peace requires an understanding of the structure of human communities and how such structure must take into account the realities of human nature. This realism in assessing the worst side of human nature is necessary for effective efforts to achieve peace. Proceeding from this premise of a moral quality to human nature, the Institute's curriculum is based on recognition of the necessity for education in natural law – deriving from the Western, Greco-Roman, Judeo-Christian moral tradition. Thus, the Institute, above all, is dedicated to, and encourages, the search for truth. The school's curriculum is also based on the premise that representative democracy with equality before the law is rare in human history, that it is worth defending, and that statecraft in service of democracy requires special educational preparation that is distinct from education in service of non-democratic forms of government.

Sounds decent to me, almost founding father like.

Here's a youtube search result

I haven't watched any but I like the excerpts I see. Pretty much says isis is this administration's fault/creation.

I also think Islam is our greatest concern and that seems to be Flynn's specialty which is why Trump would be considering him

I'm good with him. Newt will be in there to deal with the political stuff. I don't see any VP's having anything to do with congress anyway. I think Trump was talking about wanting someone who could deal like that without realizing a VP has nothing to do with that

Flynn supported 0bola? He got basically fired by 0bola. How do you know he voted for 0b0la? You’re saying I had to know he voted for 0bola? That’s a weird thing to say, sounds like a psychological method of influence to me.

BTW are you a paid political operative by any remote possibility?

BTW plenty of Dems, Independents and non-voters (until now) are going to vote for Trump. Millions of us are SICK of both freaking parties, or rather I should say, both branches of hte Uniparty.

Of course Van Jones had to act like he didn’t like what happened in Dallas. I know quite a bit about Van Jones and he’s a radical black racist commiepuke.

And Trump does NOT neet Newt.

Who are you working for? You’ve been here on FR for a month.

Holy Crap! Newt is honored to have V Jones? They’ve worked together a lot? WTF?????

I’ve listened to a few minutes and Jones is repulsive. If he doesn’t mention BLACK RACISM and the war on cops promoted by the WH and all the BLACK RACIST organizations, he’s full of shit.

“Fear and pain by both sides”.

What I’ve heard so far is psycho babble bullshit meant to make anyone listening think that “both sides” are equal and that Jones is a rational ethical human being, which he is not. Newt is enabling him.

FB kicked me out since I’m not a member.

I’m just wondering who you work for.

Agree, Trump choosing an unknown registered Democrat voter for decades would shake things up. Unfortunately, they would shake things up from the right in support for Trump. Why in the world, with all the options out there, would Trump want to choose someone that voted for Obamam in 2008 and 2012?

If this guy now tries to say he didn't vote for Obummer in 2008 or 2012 even while registered as a Democrat, will not believe him. It's one thing for George W Bush to run and then choose Dick Cheney as VP… who is through and through a conservative. As is Newt. There is no doubt whatsoever that Newt voted for Republicans / Conservatives since he was of the legal age to vote.

It's another thing for some Democrat who was scorned by Obma, even though he voted for Obur as recent as 2012, to be the VP of our nation. It doesn't matter that some VP’s have a different role than others. Example: Cheney vs. Biden. The real VP in Obur’s administration is Valeri Jarrett.

It's another thing to have Trump for President, with no Washington experience, then chose a no name military guy he's had a relationship with for less than 12 months, who is a registered Democrat, who voted for OBumr in the last 2 elections and is someone who doesn't know jack out how Washington works. Trumps advisers, including his children, better think long and hard about choosing someone with zero charisma, zero experience with the lying liberal media and zero political experience.

Anyone floating this general as a possible VP pic seems to be a mole in the Trump campaign, who's only goal is to sabotage Trump in the general election. And if Trump were to win with this Democrat, then he could possibly leak all kinds of things against Trump during his administration.

Trump would be so wrong to pick this guy. Hope he doesn't and hope he picks Newt. Even though Newt doesn't have a military background, Newt could still run circles around this guy because of his decades of experience.

YIKES, if Trump picks this democrat, it will be a tough road to support him. What at his age is he a registered Democrat? Someone better talk some sense into Trump if he is thinking about choosing this Democrat.

Looks like he starts with the name Newt and then builds sentences around it.

It’s repeating phrases in a rote manner. I think a bunch of operatives signed up in April, seen several. Who they work for who knows.

Anyone who was registered as a Democrat, not an Independent mind you, but as a Democrat in the past 2 elections and says they didn't vote for Zero will be hard to believe.

Not buying it if he claims he voted for McCain or Romney over Zero while he was a registered Democrat. Not buying it.

Seems to be a lib, had some job issues with his bosses, started speaking out. Then good for him to finally see the error of his ways. But he does not deserve to be the Republican VP as a no name hack who has an ax to grind against Zero, who would be next in line for the Presidency when he is still at this time, July 2016 a REGISTERED DEMOCRAT. He is trying to be Zell Miller or Joe Lieberman. Fine. Let him come over to the right side. Let him speak at the convention. But do NOT make him 2nd in line to the Presidency. That would be absurd and ridiculed and Trump would have to spend his whole campaign defending the guy. Versus someone like Newt who frames every conversation in attack mode.

That is just STUPID talk and people will not rally around him. Trump supporters will be like.

Seems like someone from within the Trump campaign is trying to sabotage him from within his circle of confidants. This person with zero political experience doesn't pass the smell test. Someone is trying to sabotage Trump before the RNC convention.

Posting history shows I support Trump. Just know that if he were to pick this inexperienced Democrat, he would not sit well with lots of people. He should let him speak at the convention and continue to be an adviser.

But if he picks this no-name Democrat, it will lesson his chances to win, unfortunately. Will still vote and support him, whoever he chooses, but if Trump is that desperate for a random VP as a running mate, he is better off choosing losers like Christie or Rubio or Cruz, all of who are extremely distasteful. But at least they have been registered Republicans their entire adult life.

Yikes, someone needs to let Trump know who this is the worst decision he could make for a VP selection. This guy is not Zell Miller. He just isn't.
