On Friday’s broadcast of CNN’s “The Lead,” presumptive Democratic presidential nominee former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton stated, “I’m going to be talking to white people. I think we’re the ones who have to start listening to the legitimate cries that are coming from our African-American fellow citizens,”

I’ve worked on issues of criminal justice reform, incarceration, juvenile justice, for many decades, and I’m heartbroken that we have to keep repeating and doing that work year after year, but I am determined, and I am persistent. And I will call for white people, like myself, to put ourselves in the shoes of those African-American families who fear every time their children go somewhere, who have to have the talk about, you know, how to really protect themselves, when they’re the ones who should be expecting protection from encounters with the police. I’m going to be talking to white people. I think we’re the ones who have to start listening to the legitimate cries that are coming from our African-American fellow citizens, and we have so much more to be done, and we’ve got to get about the business of doing it. We can’t be engaging in hateful rhetoric, or incitement of violence.

To a degree, that's true. Let Hillary dig her own rhetorical grave with the reality of the horrible candidate that she is.
Given this situation, Donald Trump doesn't have go hog wild in his comments. He can just do it bit by bit, quip by quip, death by 1000 cuts, so to speak.
After all Trump "playing it safe" is equivalent to any other candidate going hog wild, so Trump is already functioning at the "hog wild" level, practically speaking.
What I'm saying is that Trump simply needs to avoid self-inflicted wounds, and the rest will take care of itself.
Trump should "just" hit Hillary hard and effectively. No need for any gross exaggerations: just present the legal and political facts as they really are. If he does that, Hillary will be defeated.
As to Hillary Clinton: if a candidate, man or woman, this unsuitable, ever wins the US Presidency, I will have lost all faith in America. Utterly.
0bama's election(s) I think we can all can understand, to an extent, but there's just no excuse for the People of this nation to elect Hillary Clinton.
If the only retort to my assertion is "she'd be the first female President", that's just not enough of a reason, mmmkay?
