I came to cast fire on the earth, and would that it were already kindled! I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how great is my distress until it is accomplished! Do you think that I have come to give peace on earth? No, I tell you, but rather division. For from now on in one house there will be five divided, three against two and two against three. They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.

I don’t normally read Mike Adams’ columns, as I usually find them all the same and not as clever as he thinks they are. However, this was a good one. He is correct that churches are trying too hard to be mainstream. Why go to church if it’s no different than the secular world?

I’d say at least 90% of pastors are unfit to lead anything, let alone a congregation.

Contemporary religion as we see in America (and, I hesitate to call it "Christian") has become extremely lucrative. Cf such hucksters as Joel Olsteen.
Men posing as "preachers" depend upon their popularity with their respective congregations for their livelihood. They can't speak anything resembling truth for fear of being fired.

It is called being “double minded” and lukewarm which has resulted in a powerless and ineffective church.

Moses was not a pansy. Jesus was not a pansy. Why must a Christian today, be a pansy?

Obviously this can’t happen if He never said anything controversial.
HOWEVER... what sometimes gets forgotten is that He always took audience into account; therefore prostitutes did not hear what Pharisees did.
