When we were in Iraq, I frequently said that we should not have tried ‘nation building’ there, as it was patently obvious that the Iraqis are not capable of democratic self-government. We should have replaced Saddam Hussein with our own ‘bastard’ and made it perfectly clear that he would not survive a day past any betrayal.
Trump said it just fine. He got the discussion going, and most Americans, outside of the DC elite and their handlers, agree with him.
