Federal officials may not use private email accounts to get around public records laws, a federal judge ruled on Tuesday.
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit overturned a lower court decision in which judges dismissed claims from the Competitive Enterprise Institute, a conservative think tank that attempted to obtain correspondence from a top White House official through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).
The White Houses Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) said it did not need to search for or turn over records held by the head of the OSTP on a private email account as part of the open records request.
In addition to official White House email, John Holdren, the director of the OSTP, also sent and received emails from a domain at the Woods Hole Research Center.
Throughout the case, the government argued that [d]ocuments on a nongovernmental email server are outside the possession or control of federal agencies, and thus beyond the scope of FOIA....

Unless your name is Clinton. Then you can do whatever you damn well please.
Sure. The laws only apply to ordinary citizens. They do not apply to the privileged elite, such as hillary.
Tell it to the FBI, judge.
Actually not only can they...they have
Sure judge. We all know that the law only apply to little people.
[ Court: Officials can’t use private email accounts to evade records laws ]
Hahahahahahahaha.
Joke’s on us, again.
They made this ruling >>>after<<< Hillary gets set free by Comey and Co. so they can point at it and claim she was grandfathered-in earlier.
The timing of this could not be more perfect...
Sorry, judge, you’ve been overruled........................
[The timing of this could not be more perfect...]

Yep. Laws are for the little people, the serfs who work for the esteemed and privileged elites. There can be no question that we have a two tiered legal system in this country. Its good to be royalty.
Wake the f*ck up!
That’s always been true in this country - if you’re powerful, rich and have the right connections, you walk.
If you don’t, good luck.
Gee, So I guess there IS a prosecutor who will bring these charges.
Unless you’re Hillary.
Yeah, I saw that - but it hasn’t got the correct title [it’s the same article]. :)
No sweat on the dupe, and I noted the title difference. Cross linked each to the other just for reference, for others.
Growing up we learned to take pride in the ideals that America was a nation of laws, not men, and that all citizens are equal under the law.
Now we find America is no longer a nation of laws.
It has become a nation of crooked politicians and crooked bureaucrats.
Politicians pass laws that are meant to apply only against the little people, and bureaucrats enforce laws arbitrarily to suit a political agenda.
