Well, as much as I don't have a problem with Gingrich, he is much hated for the contract a few years back and I don't think he would add anything to the ticket. Ms. Ernst on the other hand, veteran, "tea party star"(whatever the hell that means) seems smart to me but I don't have enough info. So, who knows. Gotta keep hildabama out like a rabid skunk.

He has to have a woman on the list. I know of no others but with respect for her career in the military and her election as Governor of Iowa she know zero about Washington, Trump has said repeatedly he will opt for legislative experience. That knocks all the governors out including pense. It pretty well boils down to Newt, doesn’t it?
I know this will be criticized but the best, and smartest, pick for VP would be...John Kasich.

For show IMO. Gotta have a couple of women there (Mary Fallin is on as well), but I don’t see Trump going with someone he doesn’t really know. Also, she was pretty quickly a sellout RINO.

Ernst would be really weak for VP in my estimation; wouldn’t even help in IA that much.
Trump tweeted today about meeting both Joni Ernst and Mike Pence over this weekend. Is he telegraphing his final two choices or just giving us a head fake? Time will tell.
