This red star could pass for a Pennsylvania Dutch freeman’s symbol barn sign ... when a man became a freeman in old Europe he was entitled to put a sign with a six-pointed star a/k/a “sechszackiger stern” a/k/a “sechszackiger Zeichen” on his workplace. The tradition was carried over here by German settlers until some tour guide in the 60s mistook “sechs” pronounced “zex” for the word “hex” and started telling tourists they were “hex signs” and were thought to have magic properties of protection over any building on which they were hung.

I’d say the country needs all the protection it can get from the Red Rider witch so a red hex sign might be appropriate.

At first I thought it was another big stumble on the Trump campaign. However, I think it was brilliant. Here is why:

People are going to question, why was the Red hexagon being used? It is a symbol of Israel. Trump couldn't make that mistake. Maybe there is a hidden message here. What does the hexagon symbol really represent?

The six pointed star is the star of the god Saturn, or Chronos, to whom human sacrifice was made, and it is that same star the Egyptians used for the idol Remphan. It may well be the Seal of Solomon. Hitler used the hexigram as a badge of shame, forcing all Jews to wear it during the Nazi regime.

The star was condemned by the God of Israel in Amos 5:26

I’ve been around for about 75 years, seen most graphics and text bashing Jews and I find absolutely nothing in this ad objectionable. It takes some real effort to see the graphic and decide it is the Star of David and insulting to Jews.

I see an attention grabbing star with anti Clinton text in it.

Why? Because someone is interpreting a red star as a star of David? I've seen stars like that in all kinds of advertising. I really doubt there was any anti-anything implied except anti-Hillary. In my humble opinion this is much PC ado about nothing.

Yes... fired! Because choosing some other shape (a circle, an oval...) would have delivered Trump's enemies no ammunition.

That is not the Star of David in the Trump ad. Also Trump's daughter and son in law are Jewish so I doubt seriously that Trump is anti Jewish.
