The US sailors who were detained by the Iranian navy last winter provided their name, rank and serial numbers - and pretty much everything else their captors demanded, the US Navy said in a blistering report Thursday.
The 10 crew members, captured at gunpoint in the Persian Gulf on Jan. 12 by Irans Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, improperly revealed passwords for laptops and cellphones and even sensitive technical details about their two ships, including their top speed, capabilities and missions, the report said.

The Navy report blamed the incident on a combination of poor planning, clueless leaders who did not properly consider how risky their actions were, a lack of crew oversight and low morale.

sounds about right
:-(
Good description of the Obama agenda.
Will someone send SecNav Mabus a new dress? He earned it for his cowardice.
Those rules are the same today.
Disgraceful.
low morale.......
Operating under the current CIC, I can readily see why their moral is so low. The traitor needs to be arrested and tried for treason. I can just imagine what those sailors thought about their very limited future. They too probably had visions of Benghazi......No help coming!
I want court marshals NOW!!
I gotta wonder if they this admin is just making it up that the sailors blabbed in order to distract from the Higher ups intentionally handing over our stuff and then paying the ransom to the Iranians....
Unfrickingbelievable!
Had to fix that. The Zero loves Muslims because he is one. His conversion to Christianity was only to enhance his prospects for the highest office in the land.
Yes and there wasn’t a mark on any of them I could see. I do wonder what happened to the girl though.
I would love to have 3 minutes with those snowflakes to ask them in hindsight don’t you think it would have worked out better if you had brought those .50 cals around and blasted the two bass boats into oblivion then put a tow line on the disabled boat and hauled azz out of there? Let the higher ups worry about war with Iran?
McCain’s arms were both broken from having them bound behind his back with figure eights of rope wrapped around the arms to the neck... and then he was suspended by those bound arms from the wrists to a hook in the ceiling ... and then the procedure was to leave pows hanging there until they could no longer scream or until they gave out, or until the arms became so dangerously black from lack of circulation that the pressure had to be left off... at which point the pain begins anew. This occurred over YEARS.
So hearing a bunch of internet jockeys who don’t know crap and who have been exceedingly lucky never to have undergone anything remotely like it for even one second of the idyllic lives and who would most likely be sniveling in front of the Iranians ... is disgusting and really beneath this site, no matter how we feel about McCain’s political behavior.
I hate McCain as a politician.
But I appreciate immensely what you are saying.
Hell on earth. Amazing any of them survived.
But what’s up with the gay rights thing? to destroy America?
Not only did he do better, but most of the men captured then did as well ... and the enemy had them for a much longer period of time.
If what was reported is true these people were woefully undertrained and grossly lacking in common sense. The first part is their commanders’ fault but the latter is entirely their owm.
Seeriously- if you were assigned to that region as they were- would you not study those maps until you knew every inch of them just upon being assigned there?
Not to mention study them again before setting out every time?
I don’t care how bad the commander is, or how demoralizing the president is, seamen don’t have to sit there and be ignorant of the situation just because no one spoon fed them anything.
I’m with you. Exactly right. Whatever happened wasn’t at the operational level. This was a stunt from on high and these sailors were caught in the middle of it.
“Youd be surprised how often intelligence analysts use those books.”
I’ve still got a couple old volumes that the gov’t was surplus-ing quite a few years ago. We had better, non-public data, but the Jane’s books were still useful.
