U.N. military vehicles on Virginia interstate

'Tactical vehicles with bulletproof glass? What ever could those be for?' The sight of trucks bearing the United Nations logo being carted on Virginia's highways has set some Internet bloggers asking why - but as one interested reader posted in the comment section of a story about the curious observance: These trucks are made in America and need to be transported for shipment to U.S. seaports.

But first, the story. In a piece entitled, "UN military vehicles seen rolling down Virginia interstate," American Mirror writer Olaf Ekberg asked: "What were United Nations vehicles doing in Virginia! ... That's what motorists were left to wonder when they saw UN tactical vehicles - with bulletproof glass - on a flatbed truck and rolling down Interstate 81."

A Facebook user named Jeff Stern posted several photographs of the scene, alongside a brief statement that read, "Can't begin to tell you how many of these I passed today on 81 near Lexington, VA. Interesting times ahead!"

And from there, readers of Stern's post expressed concern as well.

"Tactical Vehicles, with bullet proof glass? What ever could those be for, and why are UN vehicles here, in THIS country?!" wrote Fernando Johnson, the American Mirror reported.

Another Facebook reader, Vincent Simmons, also noted, "They are sealed against gas, too."

And this isn't the first time U.N. vehicles have been sighted on America's roads.

"...the US Justice department has been taking over local policing, this will morph into a police force from around the world.

Before that happens, it will morph into an emphatic statement of our complete displeasure with this untenable suggestion, that we (you and I and all whom I know) and Trump will cram up their greasy creases sideways if need be.

We have them outnumbered by many-thousands-to-one. They really are in a deep, dark hole before they even get started.

I agree that we have the power, and we could take any situation and mold it in our collective image. Cattle also have the power, but they are comfortable behind their barb wire fences. It is not that they cannot break out, but that they think they can’t. The fences are in the mind.

They are Alpineco vehicles. It is the Pitbull VX model. Client confidentiality is not uncommon for defense firms to exercise.

You’re opposed to American workers being employed to build armored cars for the UN? Maybe you think the company manufacturing them should move the production to Mexico?

There are a bunch of manufacturers who build these things, located around the country. If the ones you’re talking about were being shipped on the back of flatbed trucks, then they were likely on their way to Houston or Newport News to get loaded onto ships. BAE and Alpine were referring specifically to the ones in that photo when they denied that the trucks were theirs.

Now, if you saw them parked at road intersections, and manned by a bunch of not-from-around-heres wearing blue helmets, then that’s a whole different ball of wax.

I’ll bet those cattle don’t own 275-Million guns. We do.
