Snow algae bloom in red on ice and snow and thereby darken the surface. This accelerates the thawing of ice (photo: Liane G. Benning, GFZ).
It’s nothing new. The sky is not falling.
Where are the SUVs from 1818?
GFZ scientists investigate the snow algae to get more information on the diversity of these micro organisms (photo: Stefanie Lutz, GFZ).
And how much grant money did they get for the NEW study.
*snicker*
Looks like a hydraulic fluid leak.
I have a hard time believing that they thought the pink snow was from iron deposits. In fact, it’s stupid.
Just be sure that you don’t eat the yellow snow.
my best guess.. anything from Boones Farm strawberry wine to pink champagne works for me.. or used to in my yout’.
Watch out where the Huskies go!
Note that they found one isolated place where the snow was pink to extrapolate out massive consequences here.
Perhaps we should do the same for yellow snow.
Note the white snow to the left. Someone should offer up better pictures to buttress their outlandish claims.

I live in Sacramento, CA.
Notice something about that list of the hottest days ever?
If global warming is real and every recent year has been
declared as the hottest year ever, then why are all the
record temperature days for Sacramento in the 1900s?
You would think that 16 years into the 2000s at least one
or two of the record days would be in recent years, IF GLOBAL WARMING WERE REAL. Its not.
Just another threat to make us pay more taxes, like Obamacare, now global warming, and I heard on the radio they are pondering charging fees for gun permits yearly. And Sanger, where we live, charges an additional $25 over and above the licensing fees for cars that anywhere else in the state charges, “just because”. We are getting charged $150 a year for fire protection (with a firehouse 3 mi. down the road) even tho’ we pay taxes for police and fire protection on our property tax bill, because we are a bit far out. (3 miles is not a bit far out). No wonder people are leaving California in droves. And Jerry Brown is the worst!!!
Just don’t eat the yellow snow
It stund me that these idiots don’t realize that Maryland also was under snow and ice a long while ago. They are dumb.
No, but honestly, pink snow will hit women, children and the poor the hardest.
