House Democrats ended their 25-hour sit-in over gun control legislation on Thursday, a protest Speaker Paul D. Ryan labeled a high-profile stunt that undermined the basic institutions of government.
Mr. Ryan said he was “not going to allow stunts like this to stop us from carrying out the people’s business.” He added, “This is about a publicity stunt and now a fund-raising scheme.”
But on legislative business, it was Mr. Ryan who prevailed. He personally reclaimed control of the House, pounding his gavel and muscling through a major appropriations bill that included funding for combating the Zika virus, without debate.

RATS looked like petulant children throwing a tantrum on the House floor. Apparently they thought their elderly “civil rights hero” would make people think they were emulating MLK. Ironic that they conflate civil rights with attacking the Constitutional rights of gun owners.

That's why more and more Democrats have stopped using the term "Gun Control", and are now referring to the issue as "Gun Safety" (after all, who can be opposed to safety?) The Dems are experts at using language to influence the debate - they're no longer "Illegal Aliens", they're "undocumented immigrants." It's no longer "Global Warming", it's "Climate Change", and soon it will no longer be "Gun Control", it will be "Gun Safety." We should not let them get away with these little word games any longer. Keep defining the issue as Gun Control. As Rush Limbaugh has said so many times over the years, "words mean things."
I would like a clip of those old folks trying to stand up from their sit-in. Being old my-own-bad self it would provide some entertainment

Should have been DRAGGED out of there like any other protester would have been. Bunch of hippies 60’s types still playing with sit-ins. Pathetic. And shame on Ryan for allowing it. Look what happened to Joe Wilson with two words: You Lied .... full censure by the house, and these idiots actually break the rules and Ryan gives them a pass. Ryan has to go!

Normally I would write Congress to complain. But Raúl Grijalva on the list is my Congressman since I moved a few years ago. He’s so radically Communist that I don’t write him for fear of an IRS audit (since Lerner was never punished.)
