House Democrats ended their 25-hour sit-in over gun control legislation on Thursday, a protest Speaker Paul D. Ryan labeled a high-profile stunt that undermined the basic institutions of government.
Mr. Ryan said he was not going to allow stunts like this to stop us from carrying out the peoples business. He added, This is about a publicity stunt and now a fund-raising scheme.
But on legislative business, it was Mr. Ryan who prevailed. He personally reclaimed control of the House, pounding his gavel and muscling through a major appropriations bill that included funding for combating the Zika virus, without debate.

Izzat the new Miss Missouri's mom? d;^)
“Rosa is always on crack”
Then there’s Raul Grijalva who looks like the Frito Bandido, and Hank (Guam is Capsizing) Johnson. It looked like a “Sather Gate Gathering” at UC Berkeley when I went there to try and get an education in the 1960’s
You don’t take a constitutional right away by putting them on a list . Think of that with other rights? Cornyn had a rational approach.During the three day background check if the individual was on a TERROR ( Not no fly ) list , the sale was halted . The Government had one week to give notice and hearing to the individual before a district judge to show cause for further delay. Otherwise the sale would be made. There you have due process but for these idiots to just put anyone on a list is madness. There are 1.2 million on the “no Fly” list today. Let’s just put every white male Christian on the list over seen by the Southern Poverty center communists. Yeah — dats it!!
Disagree. Ryan looks like a wimp. He allowed them to run all over the rules of the House and continued to allow them to do so with their social media broadcast.
He should have had the place cleared.

Wendle, this is about abolition of the Second Amendment by whatever means possible. It’s what it’s always about with the RATs. They would do away with the Bill of Rights (and the Constitution) if they could. The Constitution is like Kryptonite to the RATs.
They were just practicing for when the Muslims invade the Senate. Just sit there and die.
“Ryan looks like a wimp.”
Agreed! But then doesn’t he always. A strong Speaker would have taken five minutes with the ringleaders telling them they had to leave, then have the Capitol Police start arresting, cuffing, and removing them from the chamber. It’s just political correctness run a muck!
Drawing attention to VERY childish, unprofessional behavior.
All I could think of is that now we have truly become a third-world country, where rule of law devolves to mob rule. Soon if the progs don’t get their way, they won’t stop for “protests” and “sit ins” but will go straight to baseball bats, rebar, and gasoline. Justice!
Nobody knew about the gun control issue until they did this.
They held a “sit in”? Hmmm. Funny, I hadn’t heard about it until just now.
What a bunch of pussies! What dedication!
Once admitted, they would have received a tongue lashing from the leadership. Speaker Sam's moods could be gauged by one word. When it came out "shi-i-i-i-i-it" in a drawled manner, all was well with the Speaker. When it came out as a clipped "shit," it was best to hide in the nearest closet or behind the nearest piece of furniture. The recalcitrant congressmen would hear the word repeated many times in that clipped manner. The tirade would end, "This is a large body. There are 435 of you. You could get lost easily in a crowd like that."
Even Newt would have headed this off before it became a problem. My own thought: It would be best for House Republicans to find themselves a new Speaker.
Someone must have farted to get them to clear out.
My practical question is, completely apart from the elementary Constitutional issue of due process is, suppose you are added to the no-fly list.
How do you find this out? You book a flight from A to B. You buy and pay for your ticket. Vacation, business, whatever. You get your home in order, you get to the airport, and at the counter you are refused. By that time, you’ve spent $10-$50 on a cab or bus or train or getting a pal to drive you to the airport but maybe you’ve spent $700 on an airline ticket. Those are generally non-refundable these days, or non-refundable without significant penalty. Do you just eat that, then call your business associates and apologize for blowing the meeting you were going to or blow off your vacation which you also booked and paid for?
“It looked like a Sather Gate Gathering at UC Berkeley....”
Need to set up a zoo like exhibit with some cages in People’s Park and stick all these “sit-in” libtards in them.
That's how they got them in.
Their real concern is that the good guys are going to start pointing their guns at them, which is why, of course, the 2nd amendment was adopted in the first place.
THE FIRST EVER ANTI-CIVIL RIGHTS PROTEST!
No kidding - it made my dog hide behind the sofa.
