It has been a year dominated by populist rage, embodied in Bernie Sanderss calls for a political revolution and Donald J. Trumps angry assertions that the United States, and its workers, are losing badly in the global economy...
...Clinton gave this message: I alone am the candidate who knows how to turn those underlying frustrations... ...voters anger, but respond to that anger by pulling the levers of the federal bureaucracy and creating legislation...
...not easy to change Washington, or how corporations behave,... ...blasting Mr. Trumps business record, ethics and often-erratic policy positions. It takes more than stern words or a flashy slogan. It takes a plan, and it takes experience...
...she did not promise to provide free college tuition or to break up major banks; she instead said she would make sure students could graduate without a debt hangover, and clamp down on banks in ways that would probably lead them to shrink...
...propose ripping up trade deals and risking trade wars with the likes of China and Mexico. But she did say her administration would use the tax code to punish companies that outsource jobs...
...proclaim the greatness of the Obama-era economy and pledge continuity. That was a contrast with two other modern-era candidates who ran to succeed a two-term president from their party amid a strong economy, Al Gore in 2000 and George H.W. Bush in 1988...
...discontent that has fueled the rise of Mr. Sanders and Mr. Trump...
...business and government have lost sight of our shared responsibility... ...let Wall Street take big risks with unregulated financial activities, they skew our tax code toward the wealthy, they failed to enforce our trade rules, they undermined workers rights....
Mrs. Clinton thus emphasized policies... ...deal making even in a polarized Congress, or that could be executed through administrative action.

With perv-boy Hastert and closet drunk Boehner as his replacements.
Seems to me it was obvious the GOP leadership has been blackmailed for over 20 years.
Now we can understand their complete lack of will to fight for America.
Instead they just joined in the looting and enriched themselves.
Hillary Clinton: yes the economy is messed up and Democrats have been in charge for the past 7+ years!! So why elect me, you fools??!!
We need both major income tax reform and major business regulation reform for a real broad-based economic recovery.
Maybe we could add in huge gov't spending/tax cuts plus a partnership w/ the American people's wealth creation.
Hold on, We wouldn't want to risk Mexico invading the U.S. and have them killing Americans all over the place. That is...
That's an elegant way of putting it. [mental note...]
If 7.5 years of Democratic rule can’t fix it, then Democratic rule can’t fix it.
By putting my horndog hubby in charge, or something.
Tx fer the headsup, My take is you missed the point so I’ll post this and ping you if I may...
Because it worked so well for him.

It will be interesting to see how Clinton can run against the Obama economy while supporting the Obama legacy.
She slipped up already with her recent Trump bash by claiming she 'can fix the economy, but under Obama the economy has been great, but the economy is in a mess'. Huh?
Clinton can pander and criticize in the same breath.
I didn’t miss the point. I didn’t even read it so I didn’t try. Sorry!
crooked hillary would leave office with a failed economy but she would be a multi billionaire...
no thanks
cant be TRUSTED...
PLUS
is esentially a communist who wrote her thesis on allinsky and believes in it..
double no thanks.......
lol! You’re absolutely right, you’ll never miss if you don’t shoot ;)
Her plan has leaked out!
She is going to transfer all moneys into her Foundation and issue you a weekly check if you behave yourself.
Did you notice that Hillary read the (sigh....) affectation as text? She’s Ron Burgundy.
GHW Bush ran for Reagan’s third term and won easily.
Most people were satisfied with the direction of the country and Reagan was popular.
Hillary is running at a time two thirds of Americans are not satisfied with the direction of the country and Obama is treading water.
She could win if the economy shows an uptick between now and November and conversely - she could lose if there is a crash.
7.5 years of the great Obama recession, how can we even contemplate a third term.
In reading the comments on the times, democrats and liberals have to be THE stupidest, most ignorant hate filled people on the planet.
What is it with people and their “idol” worship.
I swear Hillary could slaughter 20 babies live on broadcast TV and her poll numbers would dip 1 or 2%.
We need this country to unite, and democrats simply do NOT have the capacity to do this because their entire party is about finding a problem, whether real or perceived, and getting people angry to protest and riot. Once that problem is dead, find another and repeat.
How is it any politician, especially Hillary or Bernie, fix, manage, improve, and grow the economy when they don’t know how?
These people have no clue, no idea how the private sector works, yet we as the electorate are willing to give them a huge say in making it work.
Under Obama and his insane policies, small business, the real engine in our economy has stalled , has had either little or no growth. Our GDP is barely positive but in reality negative.
To really have this country moving, we need a 5% GDP for the next five years, minimum, and create about 500,000 a month to have full employment. So how will Hillary and Bill do this? Neither could run a Dairy Queen if they had to.
