Democratic lawmakers shut down the U.S. House Wednesday by staging a sit-in on the House floor to demand a vote on gun control legislation.
Roughly 40 House lawmakers sat on the floor and refused to allow Republicans to take back control. They took turns talking about gun violence, said they wouldn't leave until House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., allowed a vote on measures to curb it, and chanted over and over "No bill, no break!" The House is scheduled to adjourn on Friday and be out of session until July 5.

Shutting down the government? Sounds like a plan to me! As long as they shut themselves down, they can’t pass more stupid policies that disguise themselves as laws. Smaller government works better!

I am 100% against any new gun laws... and I will not compromise on that position. With that said... I am always happy to hear a group managed to shut down the house of reps. They should meet once a year for budget and then meet for a week once every 10 years for legislation in my opinion.

The Democrats are shutting down the government! Call the media! Oh, they are there….taking pictures of the ugliest group of Americans, inside and out, in captivity. A perfect time for plopping a cage over the lot, and having the people come in and feed them peanuts.
Question: How much is this farce costing the taxpayers? If a Republican holds up House action, a fat figures is always conjured up to tell taxpayers how much it is costing.
