SCOTUS would be good for Sessions. However, if something were to happen to Trump, we’d need a proven Conservative to effortlessly step into the Presidency. Sessions would fit the bill.
The downside to Blackburn is that she’s also in her 60s and never had the chance to get executive experience. She didn’t arrive in Congress until she was almost 51, and that was almost 14 years ago (though she initially ran back in 1992 in a Dem-leaning seat. Had she won then, she’d have ended up as Governor or Senator before long).
Remember, West was the victim of redistricting, being undermined by the RINO Establishment AND voter fraud in that seat that stunk to high heaven. The seat is still held by a flaky Democrat as a result of all of that (the one the FL Dem Establishment has recruited to run for Senator).
Lt. Col. West is now a resident of Texas.
As anyone who reads my posts knows I am a big Marsha Blackburn fan. Not quite a nobody, she’s on TV fairly often.
What are we.... better yet, what is Trump looking for in a VP.
It isn’t and shouldn’t be who can bring along their state that I need. Only a minor consideration.
Who would be the best person to replace me and is ready to be president on day one. Bull$hit. This is like the excuse for quitting.... “I’ve decided to spend more time with my family” or “It’s for the children”. Again, a minor consideration.
It need not be someone instantly recognizable to everyone. NO ONE votes for president based on their VP pick. Number ONE is “do no harm”. Number two, can they help?
This no traditional election year! Almost everyone is treating this election as if it weren’t historic, it IS! We are talking Donald Trump here. Not your conventional candidate.
Trump has said, from the beginning, that he will pick someone with legislative experience to help him with Congress. He has not wavered from this position. In my mind that is someone from the House of Representatives where most bills, and ALL spending bills must start.
Marsha Blackburn has experience in House leadership positions. She’s been a Congressman for over 12 years. She’s tough. She is as conservative as you can get. She is a WOMAN! Trump MUST choose a woman! This year of all years, this candidate has dug himself a hole with women voters and MUST repair some of the damage and he is running against a woman.
Marsha considered running for president herself this cycle. She has said early on that if asked, she would accept being Trump’s running mate. She would compliment Trump not overshadow him as say a Newt Gingrich or Chris Christie would.
I think Marsha Blackburn is the perfect choice for Trump.
For starters, there are plenty of folks who will show you the picture of Newt and Nancy Pelosi together.
I agree that Newt pushed a reform agenda in the 1990’s but in the end he was just another representative to the R label do or die like the New York special election some years ago where he endorsed a left wing GOP candidate for Congress over the candidate of New York’s Conservative Party.
Jim Webb, possibly a DIMO. I prefer he be left off the list as he might have 3 or 4 good books left in him and we shouldn’t stifle creativity. Besides. He wads up and quits at the slightest provocation. I like him and respect him, but politics are a different matter altogether.
You saved me time, Field Marshal. I agree with your evaluation 100 %.
Out of the list only Jeff Sessions and Marsha Blackburn stands out. The rest are hacks or not enough info.
Knowing how Trump works, he will pick someone we are not even thinking of.
That is correct. And, it will be a woman.
Jeff Sessions looks to me to be the only one on this list that is not a Cheap Labor Express stooge.
NO CHEAP LABOR EXPRESS STOOGES!
Cheap Labor Express stooge
Voted to codify Obama’s LGBT bathroom policy
Up to 20 now I see.
Pawlenty is not very loved by his home state..
While he might not hurt the ticket, he does not really deliver anything. I can’t say putting him on the ticket would make me more or less inclined to vote for Trump.
I am from Minnesota.

Can’t disagree with your possible lineup.
Rand Paul is certainly a small government advocate, and has votes on record to prove it. Not sure if he has either charisma or adds any electoral votes to the ticket. Since Florida is a must win for Trump, a popular politician from Florida makes sense.
Just take Bernie Sanders. I mean, this country is so screwed up anyway, at least this will destroy the establishment, but more important, it will be entertaining.
Surprised no one has mentioned Alveda King yet.
Would certainly cause heads to explode around the Uniparty.

Huckabee has also run a national campaign before (albeit unsuccessfully), has executive experience, and isn’t part of the DC establishment.
A better choice than many names on that list.
And was an epic fail across the board.
