Kerry visits Arctic Circle to see climate change impact

The secretery of state has made the health of oceans and combating climate change a priority.

By MATTHEW LEEThe Assoicated Press

NY-ALESUND, Norway — U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry on Thursday visited Norway’s extreme north, viewing areas where climate change has melted ice and opened new sea lanes.

Trailed by staff and journalists in small Zodiac-type inflatable boats, Kerry and Norway’s foreign minister motored in an Arctic scientific vessel from a research station in Ny-Alesund, the world’s northernmost civilian settlement. The short cruise took Kerry and his delegation across the iceberg strewn Kongsifjorden (King’s Bay Fjord), where puffins and other Arctic birds skirted the waters, to the Blomstrand Glacier.

The glacier has receded significantly in the past 25 years to 30 years, with summer temperatures that can now be 8 degrees and 11 degrees higher than they once were, according to Jan-Gunnar Winther, the director of the Norwegian Polar Institute, who guided Kerry and Foreign Minister Borge Brende.

“It’s stunning,” Kerry told reporters from aboard the vessel as it idled in front of the massive ice wall. “This is the center of change within the center of change.”

So, he visited the north of Norway during the middle of June. Gee, I wonder if there was less snow and ice than as recently as 6 months ago? It’s the Climate Change!

Go to the Arctic regions in June and ask why there are no blizzards and ice forming? Idiot. No, not an idiot, an ideologue only trying to justify his lunatic ideas.

Visited during the height of the summer sun. Douche.

Why won’t he visit the Antarctic Circle in June?

Yes, truly amazing isn’t it that so much ice melts during the summer and it’s due to climate change. Apparently ice has never melted in the summer.

Why doesn't Lurch next go to Antarctic where the ice is real deep! The normal climate cycles of the earth go from North to South, and vice versa! But Lurch chooses the place, where currently, the ice is ‘thinner’! What a coincident!

A 1933 article on melting of the Artic was published as it had astonished fishing vessels who were able to transit through waters around the Bering Strait that were always thought to be permanently frozen.

But facts are not what Kerry and his band of climate change warriors have in mind.

I hope they left him there with a tent and weeks worth of food. Tell him they’ll pick him up in 6 months.

Claim That Sea Level Is Rising Is a Total Fraud

Sea levels began to rise 18k years ago at the end of the last glacial period. They have risen about 135 meters since then which is an average of 7.5 millimeters per year. That is an average of 750 mm per century (29.5 inches) which is far more than the average over the last century.

From 1880 to 2000 sea level rose about 20 cm or just under 8 inches. Far less than the nearly 30 inches per century average over the last 18,000 years.
