If Islam is a Religion of Violence, so is Christianity

Speaking after appreciating the congrats on the Orlando shootings, Donald Trump again insisted that what mowed people down at Pulse was not an assault rifle but radical Islam, because in Trump Tower, it cannot be both. Trumps world is binary. It is zero-sum: Either guns kill people or radical Islam kills people. In that world, only one religion can be bad, and so Christianity is good and Islam is bad. Christianity is peaceful and Islam violent. Christianity is tolerant and Islam intolerant. Both are inherently one thing or the other, immutable blueprints etched in stone for the behavior of their respective adherents ...
... No religion is inherently violent. No religion is inherently peaceful. Religion, any religion, is a matter of interpretation, and it is often in that interpretation that we see either beauty or ugliness or, more often, if we are mature enough to think nuanced thoughts, something in between.

It is truly a monumental task to educate, dare I even say, re-educate, a person who has, no doubt, gone to all the right schools, got all the right credentials, enjoys a position of influence, and yet is so utterly wrong in her understanding. She claims in the title that she is going to compare Christianity to Islam, and then proceeds only to talk about the actions of people either she identifies or who self-identify as Christian and the actions of those who she identifies or who self-identify as Islamic. What she fails to do is examine what exactly the New Testament teaches about the nature of Christianity and what exactly the Koran teaches about the nature of Islam. So, about all she has managed to do is assemble the usual examples - read: BAD - of those who have claimed to carry out the precepts of Christianity as they understood them.

Did this clown author fail to recognize that the Crusades were in response to FOUR HUNDRED YEARS of Muslim invasion, assault, conquest, rape, and murder?

Bovine excrement.
Islam has always been spread by the sword.
Mad Mo declared an undistinguishing and exterminating war on the rest of humankind in 622 A.D.
There is no other religion that requires its adherents to kill all non-believers.

I don’t seem to remember ,”Let him who is without sin cast the first stone,” in the Koran. Nor, Love thy neighbor as thyself,,’ Nor the word love at all..
Lot of smiting on the neck and killing of the unbeliever in the vile Koran though. That has never changed.

It’s not that people actually believe what they write. A lot of it is an argument to convince others that the writers are enlightened and virtuous. But in real life, they will not drive their cars in certain areas, and while they may vacation on the coast of Turkey or visit Mumbai, they will stay safely within the enclaves of the wealthy tourist.

If you ask me most libtards are irredeemable. If my garden was as full of weeds as these people’s minds are of irrational delusions the cure would be “Round Up.”.
I do not pretend to know how to deal with these folks but I am open to suggestions.

So stupid.
How many people did Jesus kill? How many slaves did Jesus own? How many women did Jesus rape and sell into slavery?
Now ask the same questions about Mohammed. Cased closed.

This sort of false equivalence is rampant on the Left. They can't seem to think for themselves, to look at the evidence before them and draw logical conclusions.
Conversely, this graphic is instructive on the issue.
There is an intersection of ideology and action in every Islamic terrorist attack that cannot be ignored, but studiously is ignored by our modern Left.

Maybe she can tell us which parts of sharia law she can find beauty in and how to get that without the ugly. World-wide, sharia is preferred by a large number, not a small fringe element of Islam. And it's the only thing many of the refugees she wants to accept know - you can't force democracy or separation of mosque and state on people who don't know or want it. She (and many others) is very much arguing for sharia in the US.

Islam is preaching and practicing war TODAY.
The other world religions renounced their violent ways a long time ago.

Let’s see if this “Christians are worse” article hits all the points in the template:
1. Mention the Crusades? Check.
2. Mention the wars between Catholics and Protestants in the 1400s and 1500s? Check.
3. Mention the Christian persecution of Jews in the 1400s? Check.
4. Equate Christians opposing gay marriage and homosexuality in general with Muslims killing gays? Check.
5. Brush aside the fact that Christians haven’t been involved in a religious war or in religious persecutions in probably two hundred years? Check.

It is occasionally interesting, though, to see what they’re coming up with for propaganda.
