‘No fly/No buy’ is a lie, here’s why

Imagine if the federal government suspended your right to your faith, your right to assemble and your right to speak your mind based on your inclusion on a secret list of American citizens with no prior due process and no open explanation of how you got on that list or how you can get off of it.

Absurd, right? So, why is it absurd to apply that scenario to your 1st amendment rights, but it’s “common sense” when it comes to your 2nd amendment rights?

The idea goes beyond absurd and borders on dangerous or even tyrannical when you discover that the Democrats (the party pushing for this latest constitutional infringement) aren’t even being forthcoming about the secret list they plan to use.

You keep hearing “No-fly/No buy” because, you know, it rhymes. And if a bill infringing on your constitutional rights rhymes like a Dr. Seuss book, apparently it’s more palatable. “No-fly/No buy” suggests that the “No-fly” list would be the list used to deny a citizen the right to purchase or possess a fire arm. But, is that the case?

Also, the list of No-Fly persons and why they’re on the list is secret. None of our illustrious Senators of Congressmen know why. But hell, who cares, make a mess and clean it up years later.

Hey FBI! I heard that ‘napscoordinator’ guy might be a moslem. He had what looked like a green book in his hand ... might possibly have been saying something about aloha, and a snackbar! It made me nervous ...

How do you prove if someone is or isn’t a Muslim? Remember, Taqqiya.

Joking aside: now you know what the Spanish Inquisition was really all about.

Has any of the commenters actually read THROUGH the article?

Do they know the difference of No Fly vs. Terrorist Watch list? Are they aware those who push for No Fly/No Buy are deceptive about what they're selling, and relying on the public not knowing about it? After all, most simply fall for the catchy jingle like a lot of bad legislations.

As events after events repeatedly showed us US gubmint, specifically Obama admin, are more zealous branding normal citizens rightwing extremists than actually protecting us.

Simple-minded Republicans, our representatives, come to the table thinking they are going to negotiate with the Dems to work out a compromise list. Dems have no intention of limiting the current combined lists of several database. If this only happens once or twice, ok. But Republicans kept being kicked around for how many years now, since GW Bush years?

I don't trust any of them. /rant off

Some enterprising Republican House Member should introduce a bill to use the No Fly List for NICS checks, but require notification, due process rights, and appeals to the No Fly List process.

I would have no problem with such a bill.

Well, that's unexpected...

In one sentence you basically throw the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th and 6th Amendments under the bus. We have a lot of issues to deal with in America but callous disregard for the BOR is not the answer. Now is a time we have to stand united and, as Democrats often say and should be used back against their agenda, not let the terrorists win by forcing us to compromise the very principles that make America the greatest nation on earth.

Maybe it sounds good, but realize that the governments at every level federal, state and local, have discretion to limit who sells guns and where they sell them. I believe in freedom of association, but by limiting the numbers of gun sellers (for example, you cannot buy a gun in Los Angeles, Chicago and many other cities because they won’t issue permits) you begin to create a system whereby guns will only be sold by certain types of people to certain types of people, and all others will be effectively disarmed.

I’d love that but we have weak politicians and worse judges. We’d lose world war 2 today no doubt. We put Japanese into camp until we knew it was safe to bring them back. These fugitives should go to a camp in Alaska until they can safely go back home. We will feed them and that’s it. No wondering around. We are a stupid country.

Agreed. Very sad. And she goes around saying, “No one should be above being jailed for wrongdoing.” It’s so twisted.

The scary/sad thing is the numbers she is supposedly pulling. Am I brain dead or are they? Then again, there are those who would eye witness some of these things and still deny it. #factsdontmatter I guess.

At this point, the voters who are for her are those saying, “It’s TIME to have a woman as president.” Never mind WHICH woman, just a female!!!

I thought about that after I posted. I have my CCDW permit and I would not want to be discriminated against when I buy weapons. Good point.
