Brexit Campaigns Suspended After British Lawmaker Critically Shot By "Britain First" (Jo Cox dead)

Update: 52-year-old man arrested after Labour MP Jo Cox was shot in street outside her constituency surgery has been named as Tommy Mair. A brief public data history search reveals that Mair had psychological problems:

Thomas Mair, 46, started volunteering at the park after learning about the opportunity through the Mirfield-based Pathways Day Centre for adults with mental health problems. He said: "I can honestly say it has done me more good than all the psychotherapy and medication in the world. "Many people who suffer from mental illness are socially isolated and disconnected from society, feelings of worthlessness are also common mainly caused by long-term unemployment.

"All these problems are alleviated by doing voluntary work. Getting out of the house and meeting new people is a good thing, but more important in my view is doing physically demanding and useful labour.

"When you have finished there is a feeling of achievement which is emotionally rewarding and psychologically fulfilling.

"For people for whom full-time, paid employment is not possible for a variety of reasons, voluntary work offers a socially positive and therapeutic alternative."

Update: Responding to unconfirmed allegations the shooter shouted "Britain First!" before the incident, the group Britain First has said:

A single eyewitness also claimed (unconfirmed) that the assailant “apparently” shouted “Britain First” during the attack, but this is pure hearsay at the moment.

A single eyewitness also claimed (unconfirmed) that the assailant “apparently” shouted “Britain First” during the attack, but this is pure hearsay at the moment.

There is LOTS of use of words such as “apparently” and “allegedly”.

That hasn’t stopped the media publishing multiple articles condemning Britain First for somehow being involved.

Britain First obviously is NOT involved and would never encourage behaviour of this sort.

As an MP and and a mother, we pray that Jo Cox makes a full recovery.

Update: As BBG adds, campaigning was suspended in Britain’s European Union membership referendum after news of the attack, which happened just before 1 p.m., came out.

Update: Here is a photo of Jo Cox' assailant getting arrested. As SkyNews adds, "West Yorkshire Police said a 52-year-old man was arrested in connection with the attack, which happened near the town's library. Witness Hichem Ben Abdallah said a man "was kicking her as she was lying on the floor." He said that after a bystander intervened, the attacker produced a gun, stepped back and shot her twice."

Aren’t guns banned in the UK so this would never happen? This shows the folly of pretending that banning guns will stop these shootings. Obviously this nut case was able to obtain a firearm in gun free Britain

Never mind. The outcome over the next few days will be like I described in my post #33 above. “She fought for us to stay in the Community of Nations/Europe whatever. How could You not vote to stay in when she gave her life....” And what do people say to the pollsters who will call them tonight?

What they say in the privacy of the voting booth is another matter.

I think it is a bigger risk that the referendum will be suspended than the British will change their minds and vote to remain in the EU because of this murder.

The UK interviewer dropped him like a hot rock when it became evident he wasn’t really an ‘eyewitness’.

Can’t disrupt the narrative and all that.

But still, "Mission Accomplished."

Tinfoil theory of the day: They’re using this false flag to fix the vote. It’s hard to get people to believe fixed elections when the polls are the other way around but here’s an even that will justified a 20 point shift in the polls over night.

Yup.

Like Tina Fey and ‘I can see Alaska from my house!’ being forever attributed to Sarah Palin.

You’ll NEVER convince 90% of the UK public that the big white male brute killer did NOT shout ‘Britain First’ as he stabbed the cute little petite woman.

Ding ding ding. We have a winner.

Why do you think they crashed our markets in the fall of ‘08?

It certainly seems pretty convenient to have someone possess a gun in the Gun Free Zone known as England, and shout the Brexit motto so publicly and explicitly before assaulting Cox.

Follow the money and follow the gun.

I wonder if the hildabeast, obummer and all the usual suspects, have called for more stringent gun control...oh wait, they already have it in Great Britain besides being none of their business. BTW, that won't stop 'em.

Well maybe obummer can meddle more in their EU decisions. They really liked that.

Not sure the brits are as smart in the same way.

Hope springs eternal. For their sake.

I have to admit there is a part of me deep down screaming “Sic semper tyrannis!”. But the guy couldn’t at least wait until the public referendum (that is leaning to his side)?

Total nutter. Hopefully for the people of Britain, this doesn’t sour sentiment against the EU.

Very sad happening, thoughts and prayers for the family of this woman. Hopefully they lock this criminal up, and not let themselves be manipulated by this monster who is probably opting to paint a false picture of the “Leave” side.

My sympathy is a very finite commodity.
I sympathize for the thousands of women who have been sexually assaulted by muslim invaders enabled by European Politicians, I have sympathy for those assaulted and murdered by muslim invaders enabled by European Politicians........ I am becoming very COLD to those who take Saudi/Soros money and seek to enslave the world....

Why is our side always so freakin’ wimpy?

The Welfare State, Political Correctness, the turning of "self sufficiency" into a bad word, the elimination of the concept of personal responsibility, safe spaces. The list goes on and on. Ever since Dianna died, the West is always on the lookout for an opportunity to engage in maudlin sentiment on a national scale. Any opportunity to stop the world for a good cry.
