Southern Baptist churches in the United States will no longer display the Confederate battle flag.

Oh, no. Now the Southern Baptists are joining the new Catholic religion and are not combatting satan, but are against the Confederate flag!
Another Christian religion falling into the cesspool of PC.
I’ve never even seen such a thing, but they don’t have the authority to tell individual churches what they may or may not do anyway, so this just feels like pandering and “solving” a “problem” that doesn’t even exist.
Perhaps SBC affiliated churches should remove such flags from their facilities.
Exactly why are they idiots? That flag has zero spiritual significance, meaning, etc.
I have been SB for decades and I have never seen a Confederate flag in any church I have been in In fact, I have never seen one in any church I have ever been in. I am 72.
I have never seen a Confederate flag in any church and I am 72.
” That flag has zero spiritual significance, meaning, etc.”
Maybe not to you , but for myself and millions of Americans if white Southern ancestry , the CBF IS our flag , nearly equal to the Stars and Stripes . We will love it and honor it forever . If that’s not spiritual I do not know what is . Our forefathers fought and died under that banner and we will not ever forget them , we will not ever deny the heritage which it represents .
Gutless yellow pussies!
That’s your ancestors that you’re denying as a people who were doing what they thought was their right at the time.
‘ts’OK ... I’m independent, fundamental Baptist
It’s not spiritual. You are misguided by your emotions. Hold onto your past and cling to it as proudly as you want, but there is zero spiritual significance to that flag. That flag has no more spiritual significance than a family’s coat of arms.
What makes this Ironic is that the Battle Flag of the Army of Northern Virginia deliberately incorporated the Scottish Saltire as it's main theme. In other words, it's a Christian Cross that is it's primary symbol, like the flags of many nations of Europe.
Let us examine this theory by looking elsewhere for a moment.
Do you see any "spiritual significance" in any of these flags?
Or this one?
Value the flag all you want and all you need to, but there is nothing spiritual about it.
Ridiculous. That is not the church’s job. The ONLY job the church has is to win souls for Christ and that does not include the battle flag.
Oh, I love good ol’ fashion preachin’, sure. ‘Cept’n there seems today less and less tomorrow of it. Y’ know. Wi’ the media after God, n’ all?
I am purposely confusing the issue by pointing out that the flag is based on the Christian cross as it's primary symbol?
Sometimes I think much of the objection to it is a consequence of that fact. Liberals have never been very tolerant of Christianity or Christian symbols.
Besides, I have never seen the flag in any church.
I have not either, and I don't really understand why they would feel they need to make such an announcement.
Value the flag all you want and all you need to, but there is nothing spiritual about it.
I think it's spiritual value is in the eye of the beholder. Some may see it, others don't.
If I ever start a church I ‘ll probably have one. Sad when church leadership is so clueless. Maybe they are desperate for govt handouts , or new members.
Never seen one displaying a confederate flag. Is this for individual members? Really strange.
