Any portion of an establishment licensed to dispense alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises, which portion of the establishment is primarily devoted to such purpose.

Bars are one of a long list of places that Florida establishes as gun free zones.

From Florida Statutes leg.state.fl.us:

(12)(a) A license issued under this section does not authorize any person to openly carry a handgun or carry a concealed weapon or firearm into:
1. Any place of nuisance as defined in s. 823.05;
2. Any police, sheriff, or highway patrol station;
3. Any detention facility, prison, or jail;
4. Any courthouse;
5.  Any courtroom, except that nothing in this section would preclude a judge from carrying a concealed weapon or determining who will carry a concealed weapon in his or her courtroom;
6. Any polling place;
7. Any meeting of the governing body of a county, public school district, municipality, or special district;
8. Any meeting of the Legislature or a committee thereof;
9. Any school, college, or professional athletic event not related to firearms;
10. Any elementary or secondary school facility or administration building;
11. Any career center;
12. Any portion of an establishment licensed to dispense alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises, which portion of the establishment is primarily devoted to such purpose;
13. Any college or university facility unless the licensee is a registered student, employee, or faculty member of such college or university and the weapon is a stun gun or nonlethal electric weapon or device designed solely for defensive purposes and the weapon does not fire a dart or projectile;
14. The inside of the passenger terminal and sterile area of any airport, provided that no person shall be prohibited from carrying any legal firearm into the terminal, which firearm is encased for shipment for purposes of checking such firearm as baggage to be lawfully transported on any aircraft; or
15. Any place where the carrying of firearms is prohibited by federal law.
(b)  A person licensed under this section shall not be prohibited from carrying or storing a firearm in a vehicle for lawful purposes.

Florida has the most concealed carry permits issued of any state in the nation, but it did the occupants of the Pulse Nightclub in Orlando no good because it is a gun free zone by state law.

Some may disagree with me, but a bar is one place I do not want to see anyone encouraged to carry a gun, except a qualified cop or security guard.

I’m firmly against gun free zones, that means these maniacs can do their deeds unopposed. but guns and alcohol is a bad mix, I Won’t complain if bars remain gun free zones. I do think armed security is a good idea, but patrons carrying guns is a bad idea.

Our local Desert News (Owned by the LDS Church) is whitewashing this story on their news site. The only story they’ve posted on it was the AP Spin Version where the fact that this guy was a Radical Islamic Terrorist, and the fact that he targeted a gay club and homosexuals is completely IGNORED!

I’ve attempted to post several comments on this tragedy with actual facts, but they’ve placed all my comments on “hold”, while liberal comments advocating gun control are showing up in abundance!

I do think armed security is a good idea, but patrons carrying guns is a bad idea if they're drinking.

It's illegal everywhere I know of to carry concealed AND drink.

Now, if someone is conceal carrying and sipping perrier, I'm fine with that.

I don’t have a problem with a person carrying in a bar, who is not drinking. Like myself, if I had a permit, I don’t drink, everyone else would have no worries. OK one beer every 3 or 4 months...and that’s always at home. Usually with a pizza. I make a good pizza...but if I knew I was in a bar with 138 drunks, half of whom were carrying...I’d be out the door in 3 seconds.

This is actually a big opportunity for conservatives talking to homosexuals:

1) Muslims are *not* your friends, *nor* can they become your friends. So, should *more* Muslims be kept out of the U.S.?

2) Who does the Democrat party care more about, homosexuals or Muslims? Are they willing for you to *die*, just so they can get the “Muslim vote”?

3) Homosexuals desperately need guns, and they need to carry those guns, to protect themselves. Any place that is a “gun free zone” is a threat to their lives. Anyone who wants to make it harder for them to get and keep their guns is their enemy, no matter how much they say they are their friend. This means Hillary Clinton.
