I hope that these comments are just venting and not how anti-Hillary partisans would actually respond to a (possibly) #NeverTrump conservative.
I was as heart broken and astonished as Romney himself when he lost. He might have made a good Preslident, but he let decorum, scrupulosity and timidity restrain any effective assault on Obama. Trump has much more courage, and it is contagious.

The people at Romney’s confab have lived through nearly seven and a half years of Obama. They know Mrs. Clinton would be more of the same. They know it’s down to Mrs. Clinton or Trump. And they are either flaying Ryan for endorsing Trump or, by silence, condoning that flaying.
They are a lost cause.

I would do your comment one better (or worse): I think Hillary would be worse than Obama. Because it would be entirely reasonable for her, if elected, to think, “These voters elected me EVEN AFTER 8 years of Obama sleaze and stagnation?? ALL RIGHT — let’s try going even further left!!”
For me, it’s mostly about the federal courts. I cannot tolerate any of the Dems (who could be nominated, that is) picking judges who will sit for 40 years, including 3-4 on SCOTUS. Not a big Trump fan, but that right there is the issue for me.
Romney had to WORK to try and beat the “first black president” from serving a second term...He refused to do what it was going to take...Without the drive and work ethic to do that, I doubt he would’ve been very good at the job anyway....

Well look at that. Trump appealed to the poor - ALL OF US. Look at what happened.
Why would we want to get them into the fold? A better goal would be to remove every dang one of them from any access to power or persuasion!

It’s certainly possible that Mrs. Clinton could be worse than Obama. Try to imagine the mindset of a politically informed person [they would not be at Romney’s shindig if they weren’t politically active] who compares that potential to Trump, and opts for Mrs. Clinton.
This is the election cycle that laid the Establishment and Globalists bare, for all the world to see.
