'Leave' 10 points ahead in ORB poll on Britain's EU referendum (any British Freepers out there?)

The "Leave" camp was 10 points ahead of "Remain" with less than two weeks to go before Britain's referendum on whether to stay in the European Union, according to a poll by ORB for The Independent newspaper published on Friday.

It was the biggest lead enjoyed by those wanting Britain to quit the 28-member bloc since the poll series started a year ago, The Independent said.

Britons will vote on June 23 on whether to leave the world's largest free trading area, a decision with far-reaching implications for politics, the economy, trade, defence and migration in Britain and the rest of the EU.

The official Vote Leave campaign said on Twitter: "We don't believe the ORB online poll, our data suggests it's closer to 50-50." It gave no further details, and the campaign could not immediately be reached for further comment.

ORB's online survey of 2,000 people, conducted on June 8-9, suggested that "Leave" was on 55 percent, versus 45 percent for "Remain".

The data was weighted to take account of how likely to vote people said they were. Those surveyed were not given the option of answering "don't know".

I suspect GB will satay in the EU prison. The vote won’t even be close.

Oh, do not worry. France will likely follow suit and that will really make the Germans angry as they’ve always thought they should be running France.

No need to get your hopes up. The EU Elites will decide that the Brits didn’t understand what they were voting for because the referendum question was poorly worded and the Brits lacked all the information they needed to make an informed decision. They will promptly schedule another referendum after providing the government sufficient time to properly inform the people. If that doesn’t work, then there will be a series of referendums until the British people get it right.

Just when one thinks the Brits are going to do something constructive, it will probably turn out to be a false indication of what is to come.

If they vote for Brexit, they need to follow-up and vote UKIP into power.

If you or anyone else has a ping list on this subject I would be much obliged if you would add me to the list.

FWIW - I run the "Old Crow Ping List". This is a VERY low volume ping list on matters relating to Electronic Warfare.

Please let me know if you want on or off the Old Crow ping list.

I do not understand (and never have) the utter defeatism of some of the comments on this thread.

Nothing stays the same, no one wins or loses forever.

It’s TIME for a change. And it will.

UK polling is notoriously inaccurate.

Most recent polls have showed it close with either side slightly ahead. Averaging them out puts leave ahead. The remain camp seems worried.

Latest polls

Leave + 1
Remain + 2
Leave + 10

If these and the month-ago figures are to be believed, this represents a 28-point pivot! Thanks Clintonfatigued and Impy.

The left LOVED to bring up that old GWB quote about how he was against "nation building" (ignoring the fact he made those comments pre-9/11) and bash him CONSTANTLY for it.

Why doesn't our side do the same and slam Obama over all the promises he made about how his election meant we wouldn't "bully" the world and "impose our will" on other countries? He has behaved exactly the opposite way when it comes to things like dictating to Israel that they shouldn't build settlements in the West Bank or threatening retaliation against the UK if they decide to leave the EU.

Huge missed opportunity in the PR war, IMO. Someone has dropped the ball.
