NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — When Keqiu Wang and her husband Jiamde Lin opened Crazy Wings last year, they didn’t realize things could get so crazy.
“I just hate the bad people,” Wang said.
On Sunday night, a 19-year-old walked into the restaurant on Ballentine Boulevard in Norfolk.
Wang said the teen didn’t cover his face and that he had a gun.
“He told me, ‘Open the drawer,'” she said.
Wang wasn’t just about to hand over the money, though.
“I fought with him and then Lin came in and I got the gun,” she said.
Surveillance video captured the whole encounter. Wang not only fought, but she also grabbed the gun and didn’t let go. At the same time, Lin grabbed a huge knife and came running out of the kitchen.
“Lin fought with him and then we both fought with him,” Wang added. “We fight together and Lin cut him and he left.”
The teenager ran out of the restaurant after Wang wrestled the gun out of his hand. A short time later, police found 19-year-old Jabri Brown down the street. His back was slashed.
Brown was charged with robbery, attempted robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
Brown is being held at the Norfolk jail and will make his next court appearance in July.
Wang says she is happy he was arrested, but at the same time sad, because he is so young.
“I hope he can change something,” Wang added. “I hope he doesn’t do it anymore.”

Wow. Good for her, but she’s lucky she isn’t a statistic today. Lin came out swinging that meat cleaver like a champ. Happy ending that could have been tragic.

Every time I get a link to a page that some news repackager website links in their page, I copy the headline and search YouTube. More often than not YouTube is where they gypped the video from in the first place.
Much easier to view and minus all the extra ad tracking and popup bandwidth stealing delay.
Maybe Jabri should have paused and pondered why the place was called Crazy Wings before committing himself. Dumb mofo... Crazy and meat cleavers...
Good advice. So many websites have become minefields. Enter with care. Browsing is not the simple, carefree task it used to be.
I’ll bet his lawyer has already bonded him out, the more crime he commits the more money his lawyer makes. As an extra added bonus he’s probably plotting revenge with his posse.

Growing up, the local neighborhood market was owned by a Chinese gentleman, Gene, (”Gene’s Store” in local parlance). A guy tried robbing him, Gene pulled out a big rubber mallet he kept under the counter and smashed the guy’s hand, robbery foiled.
