GotNews.com can find no evidence that Curiels parents ever became U.S. citizens. For all we know, Judge Curiel is an anchor baby.
I assume that you meant, "If they were here legally, there would be a paper trail." With that said, I suggest you read the article. Although the title of the article implies through the use of a question that Curiel's parents are illegal aliens because they never became US citizens, this is pure crap because no law requires lawful permanent residents to become naturalized citizens. What raises the BS level even further is that the details in the article contradict the title and the lead paragraphs in that the article contains photos of Curiel's father's visa documents from 1923 and 1943 as well as his work permit. There apparently is a paper trail if you bother to read the article.
in 1953 when he was born, I don’t think there is any question that he was not born a US citizen. If she was naturalized in 1969 he, he may have been naturalized with him would have been 15 or 16 and yes, he may have been naturalized with him. Although in 1969 I had business dealings with INS, I don’t recall how the kids were handled. It is an interesting point.

Father was born 17 May 1904 in Mexico. Father was Blaz Curiel. Mother was Apolonia. Death record shows he was a citizen of Mexico as recorded.

I think both parents were legal aliens at the time of the judge’s birth. They both entered legally. The mother was a not a citizen, I don’t know the status of the father.
Update:
The death record indicates the father was not a citizen.
They both entered legally.
Both parents were legal aliens at the time of the judges birth.
According the administrative interpretation of J. Gray interpretation of the 14th Amendment (Wong Kim Ark), Curiel is a citizen.
Just so you know how the system actually works, a person who is given the Green Card, Automatically becomes eligible to become naturalized US citizen in 3-5 years, if there is no record of criminal activity.
Visas don’t last for 20 years. One source of illegals is those who have overstayed their visas. if he only got 2 visas, 20 years apart and didn’t leave the country, he was here illegally.
Where he became a citizen afterward is irrelevant. I never said anything about it. you just assumed.
