It is unfortunate that my comments have been misconstrued as a categorical attack against people of Mexican heritage. I am friends with and employ thousands of people of Mexican and Hispanic descent. The American justice system relies on fair and impartial judges. All judges should be held to that standard. I do not feel that ones heritage makes them incapable of being impartial, but, based on the rulings that I have received in the Trump University civil case, I feel justified in questioning whether I am receiving a fair trial.
Over the past few weeks, I have watched as the media has reported one inaccuracy after another concerning the ongoing litigation involving Trump University. There are several important facts the public should know and that the media has failed to report.
Throughout the litigation my attorneys have continually demonstrated that students who participated in Trump University were provided a substantive, valuable education based upon a curriculum developed by professors from Northwestern University, Columbia Business School, Stanford University and other respected institutions. And, the response from students was overwhelming. Over a five year period, more than 10,000 paying students filled out surveys giving the courses high marks and expressing their overwhelming satisfaction with Trump Universitys programs. For example:

I saw that, but he needs to focus on the biases and the associations more than the merits. Whether students gave the university a glowing recommendation or not, the issue at hand is the identity politics of the judge.
There are quite a few comments that they should wait till the end for the upsell, instead of wasting everyone’s time who isn’t interested in the Elite Gold Progam.
He will be asked about this one more time tonight at the 9PM presser, so he should:
Say something like, “since you journalists won’t do the job here is a statement (while holding up the July Trump boycott letter from HNBA) showing the obvious conflict of interest of the judge”.
Then hold up papers outlining the paid speeches to the Clintons from the plaintiff attorneys.
Finish with, “I am going to make a great president, but I obviously would make a good journalist since you guys have not been able to find out what I discovered during a simple google search”.
Copies are available on the table when you file out this evening...thank you”
No so with Trump...he just stated that his University is a great place, and the witness was removed because she thought it was great also...
The media has taken the bait, and ran head long into the brick wall, and now they don't know what to do...all the supporters of Trump are well aware of what he is doing, and how he is doing it, but the ‘uninformed’ media and those that do not support Trump have no idea what he just said in his statement...
Good luck all you people who didn't learn comprehension in school, you have just been sholonged again!!!
GO.TRUMP.GO!!! ALL THE WAY TO THE OVAL OFFICE!!!
I am baffled why this is not their principal near-term tactic.
It's a strategic wedge issue in the General election. How can Democrats defend an organization called The Race with a motto that says "For the Race, everything. For others, Nothing"
Man, talk about a winning issue.
Exactly. I don’t know why he started this, but he needs to show the reason for the bias from the judge being of Mexican heritage.
He should have brought up the La Raza connection and explained the La Raza viewpoint on open borders and immigration. That would have been the argument. Instead he left himself open to criticism about his supposed racism—and this statement doesn’t make much headway either to explain the judge’s behavior.
For a smart man, he’s not acting or talking in a way that would make his point clear. Now he’s jammed himself up.
Doesn’t “sound” like him, sounds more like lawyer speak.
Donald Trump said Tuesday his comments that a Indiana-born federal judge might be biased against him because of his Mexican heritage had been misconstrued by the media
The GOPe is showing signs of desperation BIGTIME.
How true.
You're absolutely right. Trump needs to hammer that non-stop until everyone knows about this "judge" and his treasonous bias.
Correct. ‘Action’ Fault of parents or ‘our’ justice system. The perp walks free; the victim imprisoned in memories
I’m not sure he wasn’t Nifonged.
Miscontrued or whatever, they wouldn’t have been so controversial if he had given the evidence about the La Raza connection and battled it out on the basis that the judge belongs to a racist organization that is very radical on Mexican immigration.
Saying your words were misconstrued doesn’t “construe” them.
Good for trump
My guess is his lawyers are going to ask for recusal. At this point the slimy judge doesn’t have much choice...recuse or be overturned
Click on the link at top of this thread.
I would transfer the entire statement to every thread on this subject (it's that important) but I don't know how.
Somebody, please post the statement in full if you can. Mandatory reading, guys and gals!

And he's so consistent---all of the organizations he listed are plotting to overthrow the US govt.

You have to understand what Trump does, to understand how he operates....he ‘baited’ the media with this ‘mexican’ thing and like a group of dogs, he threw the bone and all the dogs went running after it, and gnawed each other, growled, barked, bit and then Trump threw out the ‘truth’ about what LA RAZA was, and who was involved, kind of like, he then threw the dogs the rest of the bones so each one had one...as the dogs (media) looked at one another, not knowing why he did this, this way, they looked at each other foolishly....which the media is now looking very stupid....

Donald J. Trump Statement Regarding Trump University
Former student Tarla Makaeff, the original plaintiff in the litigation, not only completed multiple surveys rating Trump Universitys three-day seminar excellent in every category, but also praised Trump Universitys mentorship program in a glowing 5 plus minute video testimonial. When asked how could Trump University help to meet [her] goals, she simply stated [c]ontinue to offer great classes. Once the plaintiffs lawyers realized how disastrous a witness she was, they asked to have her removed from the case. Over my lawyers objections, the judge granted the plaintiffs motion, but allowed the case to continue.
Art Cohen, a lead plaintiffs in the litigation, completed a survey in which he not only rated Trump Universitys three-day seminar excellent in virtually every category, but went so far as to indicate that he would attend another Trump University seminar and even recommend Trump University seminars to a friend. When asked how Trump University could improve the seminar, Mr. Cohens only suggestion was to [h]ave lunch sandwiches brought in and make the lunch break 45 minutes.
Former student Bob Giullo, who has been critical of Trump University in numerous interviews and negative advertisements from my political opponents, also expressed his satisfaction, rating Trump Universitys programs excellent in every category. When asked how Trump University could improve its programs, Mr. Giullo simply asked that students be provided more comfortable chairs.
Indeed, these are just a few of literally thousands of positive surveys, all of which can be viewed online at www.98percentapproval.com.
For those students who decided that Trump Universitys programs were not for them, the company had a generous refund policy, offering a full refund to any student who asked for their money back within 3 days of signing up for a program or by the end of the first day of any multi-day program, whichever came later.
Normally, legal issues in a civil case would be heard in a neutral environment. However, given my unique circumstances as nominee of the Republican Party and the core issues of my campaign that focus on illegal immigration, jobs and unfair trade, I have concerns as to my ability to receive a fair trial.
I am fighting hard to bring jobs back to the United States. Many companies like Ford, Nabisco, Carrier are moving production to Mexico. Drugs and illegal immigrants are also pouring across our border. This is bad for all Americans, regardless of their heritage.
Due to what I believe are unfair and mistaken rulings in this case and the Judges reported associations with certain professional organizations, questions were raised regarding the Obama appointed Judges impartiality. It is a fair question. I hope it is not the case.
While this lawsuit should have been dismissed, it is now scheduled for trial in November. I do not intend to comment on this matter any further. With all of the thousands of people who have given the courses such high marks and accolades, we will win this case!
