I want to alert those who visit Israeli threads of a fantastic article in the current Forbes. It describes in extreme detail the IDF unit 8200 that is the technology farm that produces an enormous array of stuff needed by the military. that would be intelligence and hardware.
There is one sentence that describes the collaboration of the CIA and the 8200 group to develop and implement the Iran Nuclear killing virus STUXNET. That is I believe the first public admission that the sabotage was the work of the USA and Israel.
I remember this event. Even at the time, it was considered a miracle by many people that the Israelis won in a mere 6 days, and retook Jerusalem.
In retrospect, I wish they had seized the Temple Mount and torn down the abomination that squats there.
But, then, what do I know? (sigh)
And the Arabs attacked during the peaceful and holy month of ramadan
Though I was quite young I still recall going to my grandmother’s Sunday school room to join her for the Sunday sermon. When I got there I asked her what was all the excitement about. The room was alive with energy.
I remember a neighbor, a WW2 and Korea veteran, swearing up a blue streak that the “damned Arabs are going to finish what that SOB Hitler started”.
Everyone was amazed when the Israelis whipped the Arabs in less than a week.
Back then there were a lot of holocaust survivors in the Israeli militias and this time they were fighting back.
I was stationed in Germany at the time. The whole 4th Armored Division was on alert. We were told to place foot lockers in storage, issued our weapons, stood in formation for four hours waiting. Finally, everything returned to normal. I still wonder, who’s side we were on?
Isn’t next year the big anniversary?
Israel will NEVER lose a war on this earth. It’s best for us to be with them in times of trouble and times of peace.

One can further bet that the Palestinians would have remained merely Arabs who belonged to the Arab nation, worshipping the pan-Arab high priest and prophet, Gamal Abdul Nasser.”
The result would not have been peace for the region or the world, Leftist fantasies notwithstanding. Throwing Israel to the wolves would only increase their appetite for more Arab/Islamist expansion.
One thing I was hoping for in this article are what could have been done to secure the peace after Israel won the 1967 War.
When a democracy goes to war, there must be a clear objective that is mindful of preventing further war.
Whacking the hornet’s nest by consigning the Arabs living in Golan, the West Bank and Gaza to ambiguous status was doomed to increase the chance of further conflict.
Israel should have annexed those areas outright. The Arabs who were living there should have been offered Israeli citizenship, with the proviso that they remain loyal and non-violent. Those who did not would be imprisoned and/or expelled.
Groups that advocated the destruction of the Jewish State would have been outlawed, with its leaders and active members imprisoned and/or deported.
There might still have been a PLO, HAMAS, PIJ, etc., but their recruiting ground would have been a lot less fertile.
In war, there are only three possible outcomes: Victory, defeat or a continuation of war. By failing to annex the staging grounds for an upcoming Arab attack after having defeated them, Israel guaranteed continued bloodshed, which is still ongoing two generations later as a result.
Israel needs to do it again. It may be much harder this time.
