There might be an Easy Way to fix the “Paid Thug” problem. It would require some Normal folks to Sign up to be a Protester, then during the Violence, GET HURT AND GO TO THE HOSPITAL, tell them YOU WERE ON THE JOB and it is Covered under WORKERS COMPENSATION, Give them a Copy of YOUR CHECK. Then Sign up for STATE DISABILITY.
The “EMPLOYER” will be in for a world of hurt, The California Franchise Tax Board makes the IRS look like scared school girls.
I’m sure if the animal attacking you has prior arrests for violence you can win a judgment because the employers didn’t perform their due diligence.

I’ve seen numerous craigslist ads here in the NYC area for such paid protestors, and they are never so direct, much more idealistic and high-minded sounding.
