The freshman senator wants to return to the campaign trail this fall as a conservative surrogate for Republicans aiming to turn out the GOP base, they say.
That can go a long way toward establishing good relationships, said a senior Cruz adviser...
As Cruz preps for reelection in 2018 and eyes a 2020 presidential bid, theres a tacit recognition among some members of his political circle that the opposition he faced from his own Republican colleagues was a real problem for his candidacy as the primary field dwindled...
Other senators said they, too, have had almost no dealings with Cruz since he dropped out of the presidential race early this month. He returned to Washington for a defense bill mark-up and a news conference, then promptly took a week off from the Senate in Mexico to convalesce from the campaign. He returned on Wednesday for the last few minutes of a caucus lunch and said little, according to an attendee.

WAIT! What happened to the whole “outsider” shtick?...Ted Cruz is a two-faced fraud to the core.
“Its not that Cruz feels he has anything to apologize for his outreach will go only so far but his team does see down-ballot campaigning as offering a mutually beneficial way to reset relationships. They believe other senators would be smart to embrace the help.”
Arrogant, clueless and ineducable is no way to go through life.
“Cruz preps for reelection in 2018 and eyes a 2020 presidential bid......”
Lyin Ted needs to find a different line of work.
I will never vote for this loon nor support anyone that gets contaminated by him.
“Ted Cruz is a two-faced fraud to the core.”
The level of hubris is even more appalling.
“I will never vote for this loon nor support anyone that gets contaminated by him.”
What if we throw in Stabby the Clown?
Nope, not even then. ;>)
He’s a US Senator from one of the most important states with an outstanding resume. What are your claims to fame?
>Hes a US Senator from one of the most important states with an outstanding resume.
Funny, I can’t find any actual accomplishments of Ted Cruz. Just lots of talk, lies, and failure.
He’s a U.S. Senator from an important state with an impressive resume who is also physically and vocally repellent, and has a history of bald-faced lying. And what he lied about was WHAT TRUMP WAS SAYING.
How did Cruz think he could get away with lying about WHAT TRUMP WAS SAYING IN PUBLIC???
How’s the weather in Mumbai?
I read the article recently. The gist is he wants to get re-elected, so will be nice to his fellow Senators. What about Trump? Will he help there?
>What about Trump? Will he help there?
He will not.
No, sir Lancelot is going to position himself as the true conservative
He will be a thorn in Trumps side and enjoy it
His only chance to advance is if Trump fails
Bubububut he dared to run against the Dear Leader!
Hes a US Senator from one of the most important states with an outstanding resume. What resume? He's never accomplished anything...He's a lawyer, BFD they're a dime a dozen.
Since you brought it up. For all the chest pounding Texas does it has never produced one national politician, that I can think of, that didn't turn out to be a total national failure...Including both Bushes
Oh, and all this talk here about him not being re-elected in 2018? Hahahahaha!
“Hes a US Senator from one of the most important states with an outstanding resume.”
He is an unmasked globalist and a discredited false messiah with sealed records, the charm of oiled carrion and the self control of a colicky toddler. He can help, his minions claim, in deep red states. In other words, he is able to assist precisely where his assistance isn’t needed. In other words, a boars teat with a grating, nasal mewl.
“What are your claims to fame?”
Oh, sort of miscellaneous. I talked my way into the Lubyanka one time, and thereafter talked my way out. I have been searched by the KGB who were reluctant to jack me up after I humiliated an Intourist provocateur they didn’t like. I almost managed to zap a sexually deviant sergeant with the back blast of an RPG. I’ve been through the desert on a horse with no name. I took photographs of Yugoslavian troop maneuvers which would have gotten me shot if detected. I worked the black market on the trans-Siberian express, and at one point on that trip enjoyed some Soviet champagne and the attentions of a young lady who swooned at my feet. I’ve made not one but two prosecutora cry, one open in court, and reduced a senior police investigator to holding his head in his hands with nothing to say after striking the heart of his testimony, bit by bit. I’ve always known what my citizenship is. My prayers have always been sincere, and not a one of them was rehearsed or recorded or simulated. I’ve split my face to the bone and didn’t know it until I was told. I’ve smuggled ammunition between foreign jurisdictions at age nine. I’ve ridden an elephant. I’ve won more than 90% of my appeals. No female has ever cringed away from my embrace or my kisses. I had a victim’s weeping family embrace me and tell me I was the only one from the government to deliver on a promise or to tell them the truth. Speaking of truth, exactly one thing in this paragraph is untrue.
But this is true: Cruz will be as popular in this year’s campaign trails as a fart in an elevator.
By the way, if elected office in an important jurisdiction is the benchmark of a man, is not Justin Trudeau a more accomplished Canadian than “Ted” (not his real name) Cruz? Trudeau doesn’t even have his records sealed.
“Oh, and all this talk here about him not being re-elected in 2018? Hahahahaha!”
He has made the history books for benchmark weakness:
And I do believe he may be required to prove his citizenship this time. Sealed records, my, my, my. Such an odd thing for an honest man to have.
