Re: Early Christians..yes, as a group, it does seem they were much closer to God and spiritual than modern day Christians, and were thrown to the lions for the heathen’s entertainment.
But, I think about this: Our lives in heaven are going to be so much better than this life, why would we want to prolong earthly life? Yes, ties to loved ones keep our “wants” here, but in reality, the next life sounds amazing....no pain, sadness, sickness, suffering, or hurt...only complete healing and perfect love......Sometimes I joke to hubby “Beam me up!”

It is a fearful but wholly fascinating time we live in. I am ever more thankful I am Christian and by only the strange grace of God, grew up in America. Why me, so blessed? It is astounding who I am, because of where I am and that I should be blessed to be Christian.
I did God no favors, He did me the favors. Universal thoughts, for sure. So many “why’s”. Why me, Lord? Why did he know all of us before we were born? Amazing, isn’t it? And I dare to be so judgmental of those not blessed. It goes on and on.. But, it ends with, we are thankful for his Mercy and grace.
