Dartmouth University’s Alumni Relations department has concluded that no student will be punished for the Black Lives Matter incident last year, where activists stormed a library on campus and hurled racial abuse at students. In November it was reported that a 150-person strong group of BLM protesters stormed the campus study space, screaming racially motivated chants such as, “F*** you, you filthy white f***s!”, “F*** you and your comfort!”, and “F*** you, you racist s***s!” One girl was even reported to have been pinned by protesters against a wall, who allegedly shouted “filthy white bitch” in her face. Vice Provost for Student Affairs Ing-Lise Ameer defended the protesters’ actions shortly after, claiming that the violent demonstration “needed to be done.”

After concluding its investigation with respect to the complaints and studying what was seen in the video in Baker-Berry Library, it was determined there were no specific violations of the Standards of Conduct. In essence, no rules for which there are recorded and communicated sanctions were broken.
While nothing that occurred in the library was found to be in violation of the Standards of Conduct, the spirit of the recent Moving Dartmouth Forward Citizenship Pledge was clearly violated. The pledge, however, is aspirational not actionable. There are no defined sanctions in place if it is not upheld, and some alumni feel perhaps there should be. The code reflects a standard we hope all community members will strive to achieve in their interactions with one another. Students were counseled in serious conversations about judgment, the pledge of citizenship and behaviour appropriate within a civil community…

I’d love to know how many of the BLM thugs actually pay any part of the $60K/year to attend Dartmouth. That funding should end. Bring in kids who respect the education they’re being offered and the fantastic opportunity they’re given.
The worthless “n” words that act this way should be expelled and booted off the campus. If they try to return they should be thrown in jail where they belong.
They only allow racism, as long as whites are the targets.
Since the college leaders failed their duties, I hope that the students or their parents sue the school. People do not go to college to be abused.
As an alumnus (granted from almost 30 years ago....), I feel qualified to answer this. Let me preface my response by saying that I am a card-carrying Republican and an ardent supporter of the Second Amendment, and always have been. I chose where to pursue higher education based on academic excellence, not politics. I’m fairly sure I was the only non-liberal ever on campus. Being an absolute minority conservative on a liberal campus makes for a very interesting educational experience.
BLM is just about the most abhorrent group to walk the face of the earth, with the possible exception of Westboro Baptist Church. That said, whether we like it or not, Free Speech is a constitutional right. Trump rallies have repeatedly seen far more hatred and violence than this, and yet these are permitted expressions of the right to free speech. Ferguson? Same story...those arrested were arrested for physical violence and breaking the law, not verbal stupidity. Westboro needs no explanation.
Do I agree with ANY of the tactics groups like this take? No just no, but HELL no. Unfortunately, disagreeing with BLM’s message (which I do, completely) doesn’t mean they have no right to speak. Dartmouth is nothing more than geography...if not there, they’d trot on down the road to Lebanon College, or Colby-Sawyer College or Norwich University. Sadly, BLM and other hate groups have the same constitutional right to free speech as every other citizen. While I sometimes wish there could be limits placed on free speech and how opinions can be expressed, that would be a slippery slope to start down.
Back in the day, “free speech” had a very different meaning. Carrying signs and burning bras, etc.... Now, as is common with much of the “entitled” generation, they don’t know when to stop, or when too far is too far with this as a constitutional right.

Dartmouth's been declining for years. I remember they changed their charter in the mid 2000's (iirc) to minimize outside trustee influences, aka, the "alumni".

In my geographical location, you can shoot someone for doing that. It's menacing, or terroristic threat as they say now.
Just curious -- do you recognize no limits whatsoever to speech? Slander, threats, false cries of fire in theaters, allahu akkaboom on planes, endorsing the assassination of a head of state...?
I take it then that no 2nd Amendment rights are recognized at Dartmouth.
Hopefully the spineless white libs learned a valuable lesson from it.
The freedom that these #BlackLivesMatter are being given to terrorize and assault people and get away with it un checked and scott free is encouraging them to ever more frequent and extreme actions
