Ruben Brosbe, a third-grade teacher at a public school in New York City, doesnt like Donald Trump. Its clear he despises the man who is about to be named the Republican presidential nominee and all that he stands for. And he has written publicly about his desire to share this with the children in his class.
Teachers, he says, must not silence themselves when the subject arises. The fact is, Donald Drumpf is not an ordinary politician, writes Brosbe in TheEducatorsRoom.com in a article titled Teachers Must Take On Trump. His rhetoric goes beyond typical political mud-slinging. It is dangerous, offensive and demands a response from educators.
Brosbe uses the name Drumpf instead of Trump, which is code for I hate Trump. It comes from a segment earlier this year on comedian John Olivers show on HBO. Apparently back in Germany in the late 1600s, the Drumpfs changed their name to Trump. To Trump haters, however, the name change is proof of his shadiness. Its akin to someone calling the president Barack Hussein Obama.
Brosbe, a graduate of the Harvard Graduate School of Education, says the topic of a wall between Mexico and the U.S. came up at lunchtime this spring when the kids in the Hamilton Heights school started asking about the upcoming New York primary. After the third graders tossed around some candidates and issues, he explains, the tone changed as the discussion turned to Drumpf. One student wanted to know if an aunt in Mexico would still get mail. Some of his third-graders were born in Mexico and so were many of their parents, he says, but the possibility of postal service interruption is his only first-hand anecdote of concern from his students. Still, he senses a mixture of anxiety and anger beneath their conversation.

Indoctrination is not teaching.
The school said they do not allow 3rd grade teacher to teach or express their political views to their students. I called the school.
Yep, that is the school he is at. Your link is good and verified (I called).
> Why is a MAN teaching 3rd grade?.........................
Because he’s not a man, he’s a p**sy.
He’s the product of the rampant feminism that has run amuck in society since the 1970s.
Anyone who still puts their children in public school are out of their FREAKING MIND!
Why Forbes print this drivel?
Why Forbes allow comments from only social media sites? Not Discus.
I think if kids want to talk about something, teachers have duty to let kids hear both sides.
Otherwise say to kid talk to parent(s).
Phoney fact in story. Mexican mail service is joke. People don’t mail. Mexico could not interact with world if not for fedex/ups type services and cell phones.
Story smacks of BS.
Public school teachers union...worst of the worst.
This is priceless. Found this gem when looking up information about this idiot...he was the subject of a blogpost in 2013 that is MOST excellent. “Recently a someone who had worked closely with Ruben at MS 331 contacted The Crack Team here at SBSB and we commissioned this person to to guest blog for us. Please sit back and enjoy.”

Exactly. The teacher was indoctrinating the kids so they would go home and tell their parents they shouldn’t vote for Trump.
Now, any parent stupid enough to take voting advice from a third grader’s teacher wasn’t voting for Trump to begin with.
I’ll bet those poor kids have had ‘lunchtime discussions’ about ‘gender fluidity’ too.
Fifty years ago our English teacher expressed an opinion about Communism. Namely that our government was wrong to hold hearings on whether or not someone was a Communist. She was reported by someone and subsequently fired.
I doubt this would happen today. Re: Bernie Sanders.
Pajama Boy.
I posted a nasty-gram, but it is awaiting moderation. I sure we will see it...never.
We are supposed to believe that third graders are deep into political discussions during their LUNCH HOURS?? “TOSSED AROUND CANDIDATES AND ISSUES.” What kind of a jerk is this? He believes they are truly interested in the subject and yet gives them credit only for being concerned about possible cut-off of mail delivery to Mexico? That sure proves a lot of deep thinking going on with those THIRD GRADERS...
