ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) Hispanic voters in Florida, New Mexico and California have waved Mexican flags and bashed Donald Trump piñatas clashing with police, at times to protest the Republican presidential contender's hard line approach to immigration.
Yet far from the protests, an increasingly vocal Hispanic minority is speaking out in favor of the brash billionaire. They are backing Trump even in the face of resentment and suspicion from friends and family, who are among the overwhelming majority of non-white voters opposed to the New York businessman's candidacy.
"I'm not ashamed to vote for Trump. I'd just rather not have the conversation with my family," said Natalie Lally, a 22-year-old college student from New York City whose large extended family has Colombian roots.
She says silence fell over her grandmother's living room when she admitted her support for Trump during a recent family gathering that included more than 30 relatives.

It makes sense - they came to the US to escape corruption, so why on earth would they want to go back to corruption by voting in Crooked Hillary?
Hispanics who came here legally, followed the rules, don’t like the illegal hordes invading the country any more than the rest of us. The illegals are taking jobs away from them, and/or many are just sitting at home getting welfare, as legal immigrants and citizens pay their taxes.
The Dems won’t like this one bit...brown skins not following the script...
When I lived in El Paso my best friend there was Hispanic.
He was a LEGAL Hispanic, well-educated and with a crop of great kids.
He always went with me and my mom to vote REPUBLICAN on election day :-)
Well this American of Mexican ancestry is voting for Donald.
not to mention, illegals embarass the legals’ image bigly.
I doubt those waving Mexican flags and rioting against Trump are eligible to vote in a US election...

That’s the money shot. Enforcing our borders and wanting to know the identity of those inside our borders is now a “hard line approach”.
You’d think there is some sort of difficulty understanding the difference between an American from Mexico, and a Mexican in America.
