Conservative provocateur Milo Yiannopolous wants DePaul University to refund his security costs after his event last night was shut down by anti-Trump activists supporting Black Lives Matter and Bernie Sanders...
Before the event DePaul asked Milo him to pay $1,000 for security costs—only, he points out, to then fail to intervene when his tormentors stormed the stage...
“What I’m surprised by is that the security, which I paid a thousand dollars for otherwise they threatened they would cancel [the event], refused to remove somebody from the stage who threatened to hit me. It’s so shocking,

I think the video shows paid security standing down while the provocateurs have Milo’s microphone.
Milo should get his money back. Security was 86'd.

Universities are now hoist on their own petard. Because of their own hotly-demanded progressivism, they must admit (and force others to subsidize) disproportionate numbers of underqualified, undersocialized and over-entitled insurgents. Universities are now cowering in fear, afraid to teach how to shut up and learn, how to debate rather than suppress, and that universities had been a foundational component of civilization — or even that Western Civ was a net positive development in human history.
After all, universities have been the main purveyors of Hate Speech towards eurocentric Christian Western Civilization for the past 50 years. They richly deserve their present educational failure and takeover by the forces of fascism and communism. They asked for it.
So bite us, universities. Many will start educating themselves online to avoid animalistic behavior in the lecture halls, sexual anarchy on the campus and tyrranical breaches of privacy in the dorms and lockers.
Black Lives Matter Thugs get away with all kinds of behavior that others would be arrested for. It’s because they’ve found they can act out with impunity and no consequences. (Maybe some Tear gas....sometimes.) Arrests are very rare.
Violent thugs acting like violent thugs to disprove the perception that they’re violent thugs.
The collective IQ of BLM doesn’t crack the 50 mark.
While what happened at the event was disgusting, the outcome is a black mark on BLM, university hypocrisy, and the growing movement of liberal fascism on campus.
The outcome is a plus for conservatives.

The Academies have been increasingly corrupted since World War II; but they used to at least give lip service to the concept of "Academic Freedom." Increasingly they are abandoning any pretense.
If I knew Adam was going to be there I would have gone.
Take the university to small claims court. The aggravation of having to send their corporate counsel into the bowels of Chicago city court would be worth the hassle. Milo can get an article out of it to boot.
Nice thing for the University President to say, but without action it means less than nothing. What sort of action? Inviting Milo back to complete his talk at for no expense.
Reimburse the $1,000 security costs to Milo
To the extent that the “activist” ring leaders are students, severely punish them.
The rest of them, force everyone to sit through “sensitivity training” regarding what free speech is and how tolerance means “tolerance of speech and attitudes that you don’t like.
Chances of these things happening? 0%
Not only does he deserve a refund, he deserves damages as well.
That security fee at universities is for security for snowflakes to provide the counseling necessary if they should hear something that they have not heard before and it scares them.
I just thought it was a new technology for cutting-edge Brits.....Maxwell Smart had one YEARS ago. Sheesh.
Hear, hear! And with organizations like edX and Coursera, one can learn and/or earn degrees at a fraction of the cost of what universities are charging for tuition.
