A fourth person has died on Mount Everest, and further details about the deaths are slowly emerging. Subhash Paul of India was being assisted overnight Sunday by Sherpa guides during a descent when he died of altitude sickness, the AP reports.

Dutch climber Eric Arnold passed away Friday of the same malady, while Australia's Maria Strydom succumbed to it on Saturday. A 25-year-old Sherpa was the first to die this climbing season: Phurba Sherpa fell to his death Thursday while trying to prep a route for climbers just 150 feet from the top, CNN reports.

Stay off the mountain.

I have boycotted Mount Everest for 62+ years now.

I suggest you do, too !

It’s too bad about the sherpas. They are just trying to earn a living. I really couldn’t care less about morons who waste their life trying to prove they can do something that hundreds have already done.

A few years back I drove to the top (actually within about 200 feet of the top) of Mount Evans, about an hour west of Denver.I’m in pretty good health but am no kid anymore.I tried to walk the 200 feet from the parking lot to the very top (about 14,300 feet) but couldn’t do it.I was winded...big time...after a few steps. My cardiologist said he wasn’t surprised given the altitude.

How do you know if someone's a vegan?

Don't worry. They'll tell you.

It's unlikely he had life insurance, but if so, probably little.

If not for the Sherpas, these mega guided trips to the summit via prepared trails would be non existant........

Google Mt. Everest outfitters and you will find a ton of these groups at a cost of about $30,000 per vacationer........With extra $$$ for a prior week of training for those who have never had mountain experience.........

Don't worry. They'll tell you.

That's a fact!
Many years on rock and ice, it appeared that a disproportionate number of climbers were veggie only.
Good, strong climbers, no problems there.

A comedian recently quipped that “You never find out second-hand that somebody is vegan.”

it is amazing how some people still think Everest is just a vacation. the mountain is littered with hundreds of bodies on the way up.

The walkers are nothing but a collection of narcissistic jerks who would put their personal trek over the life of a fellow walker and perhaps help him back down the mountain once he started suffering from altitude sickness.

But to leave him/her there to die while you continue your own personal walk to the top and ignore him/her on your way back down without bringing him/her with you is unconscionable.

As a side note, the least these narcissistic environmental pricks could do is take their trash and dead bodies home with them........

The Sherpa fell to his death. The others from altitude sickness. One is more noble
