Mesquite, TX investigators said according to witnesses, an incident that started with a harmless traffic maneuver, ended with a man being shot and killed in self defense this Sunday.
Officers responded to a report of gunfire in the area of Rodeo Center Drive and Military Parkway about 10:15 p.m. where they discovered the body of Armando Macias Jr., 25, who died from apparent gunshot wounds.
When Macias and two family members witnessed a car turning around in their driveway, they began to yell and curse at the people in the vehicle. The driver of the car, who was unfamiliar with the area and mistakenly pulled into the driveway, backed out and drove off.
At that time, Macias and one other family member entered their own vehicle and pursued the car. The car occupied by Macias pulled in front of the other vehicle, blocking it in at the intersection of Rodeo Center Drive and Military Parkway.
Witnesses said Macias exited the vehicle and approached the passenger side of the other car. He then reached into the car and began to assault the woman in the passenger seat, while attempting to pull her from the car. The driver and backseat passenger pulled at the woman in the front passenger seat, trying to keep her from being pulled from the car.
Macias reached for the seat belt mechanism, in a failed attempt to remove it. The backseat passenger saw Macias reach for something around his waistband, and fearing for his life and the life of the woman in the front passenger seat, the backseat passenger fired two shots from a handgun, with both shots striking Macias.
Police confirm they discovered a screwdriver lying next to Maciass body and investigators see this as a clear case of self-defense, and defense of a third party.
The case is being referred to the Dallas County Grand Jury.
How’s that “Machismo” working out for him?
And the gene pool just got a much needed shot of bleach.

The problem with playing badass is that you will eventually meet a badder one.
gangs?
illegal aliens aren’t known for their neighborliness...
that often happens in TN..
I sometimes do it myself...
Texans probably do too...
but it’s an American habit...
I wonder why they got so upset about somebody using their driveway to turn around in?
the turning around in a strangers driveway bit not the pursuing and attacking bit...
maybe they ran over the Mary Jane plants growing alongside...
Reason #1110 why I will never set foot in texas: turning around in some texican’s driveway is a good enough excuse to get you killed.
Do not bring a screwdriver to a gun fight.
Most people simply refer to it as "road rage"
Wonder which Mexican drug gang he was affiliated with, since he was so concerned about his turf.
Someone pulls into my driveway, I’ll probably watch and see what they are up to. I might note down the tag number if I can. But that would be the end of it.
” Armando Macias Jr., 25, “
Interesting...last night a man was arrested for brewing/selling meth & heroin, parole violation, burglary about 1/2 mile from me....same last name.... Jackson County Sheriff MACIAS,JESUS JR ...yes, we are a sanctuary state and we are FULL of ‘em.
You got it backward. Getting enraged about someone turning around in your driveway is enough to get you killed.
Don’t bring a screwdriver to a gunfight.
Funny! I was just going to ask you which part you meant—was hoping it was the first part!

My sister and I were in my little Chevy Vega, early ‘80s and we ended up in the bowels of Santa Ana, California. It was about 5 pm on a Saturday evening. We realized we were lost but didn’t want to appear so because we saw some real unsavory characters hanging around many of the front yards of the houses. We were headed to a BBQ/bday party at a friend’s house. We stopped a stop sign and were talking about which way to go when about 10 guys jumped in front of the car and on the hood, waving their hands, throwing gang signs. We were terrified. They were yelling and screaming and banging on the car and I just punched it! I didn’t know where I was going but I prayed it wasn’t going to be a dead-end street.
Somehow we made our way out of that barrio safe and sound. The car was okay too.
Very frightening. As far as I can tell, I didn’t run over anyone, but at that point, I had tunnel vision and was only trying to get away.
Another happy ending brought to you by an American bearing arms.
Smells like the Latin Kings or Tango Blast gang is down a member today.
