Two Chinese fighter jets carried out an "unsafe" intercept of a U.S. military aircraft on Tuesday over the South China Sea, the Pentagon said on Wednesday.
The incident took place in international airspace as the U.S. reconnaissance aircraft carried out "a routine U.S. patrol," a Pentagon statement said.
The incident comes a week after China scrambled fighter jets as a U.S. Navy ship sailed close to a disputed reef in the South China Sea.

There is a LOT going on in China right now that suggest that we are very close to WWIII, and that it will start there.
The Chinese are having “disputes” with every nation around them about the South China sea, and have moved westward to claim that the Indian Ocean is also theirs to do whatever they want with it.
Obama has been needling them uselessly for months now.
Also, in my experience the phrasing the Pentagon is consistent with “Shots were fired”. I’m willing to bet that anyone in intelligence now will read this same news only with “Warning shots were fired by ChiCom” filling in those blanks.
China is a situation that is far, far worse than we mostly know.

Right, the Chinese are suicidal. No ones coming to there defense if it starts. Putin will take a back seat and suck up the vacuum left behind.
