I though the change from Rush’s three hour anti-Trump commercial would be interesting, but it’s not. I usually enjoy Mark Steyn, but today he’s just being kind of boring.
He must have been watching that South Park epi about growing a new one on rat or the like. (”Mrs.” Garrison having second thoughts on the mutilation chic).
Despite the legitimate accusations of snobbery directed at leftists by Rush, Steyn, et al, I sense some very real snobbery where Trump is concerned by many of the same commentators.
Rush, in particular, has tied himself in knots playing a pointless parlor game of ‘no endorsement.’
Steyn relies on his Canadian/British background for ironic distance but the point is he’s chosen to live and work in the States. He can discuss and/or mock figures who are pro- or anti-Trump but sooner or later he needs to commit also.
He is, of course, on much firmer ground when detailing the radioactively corrupt Clintons.
Now Steyn going on about how a candidate has to make a CONNECTION with the people. Points out that Hillary isn’t doing that. Mitt didn’t do that and neither did Jeb despite all the money poured into his campaign. Really? Well, then, Mark, is there now a candidate we can point to who has made a connection with the people? Can’t we think of just one who has done that? No, of course not, because that would involve mentioning Trump’s name in a positive light. Steyn won’t mention that Trump’s racked up so many new voters into the process and has accumulated more votes than ever before in a GOP primary. Ah, well, not important, not worth mentioning apparently.
I like Mark...has a great sense of humor, but he’s often too fatalistic for my tastes. If I want doom and gloom, I can just as easily watch the MSM.

Absolutely. Someone disagreed with me yesterday that Steyn has had his marching orders. I’ll lay dollars to donuts we hear nothing supportive or positive about Trump for the rest of the day. Two Trump callers yesterday were manipulated away from the topic of Trump support.
Rush Limbaugh show with or without Rush is no longer what it once was and likely will never return to what it once was.
It’s going to be painful listening to Rush continue sniping at Trump throughout the campaign and into the November election. Never Hillary is as far as he will go.
