WASHINGTON President Obama on Monday made an impassioned argument for his administrations decision to instruct public schools to allow transgender students to use the bathroom that matches their gender identity, saying that society must protect the dignity and safety of vulnerable children.
The remarks were the presidents first public comments on a directive released Friday that has added fuel to a searing national debate over transgender rights. Mr. Obama said the guidance, issued by the Education and Justice Departments, represented our best judgment on how to help schools wrestling with the issue.
Were talking about kids, and anybody whos been in school, been in high school, whos been a parent, I think should realize that kids who are sometimes in the minority kids who have a different sexual orientation or are transgender are subject to a lot of bullying, potentially they are vulnerable, Mr. Obama said in an interview with BuzzFeed News. I think that it is part of our obligation as a society to make sure that everybody is treated fairly, and our kids are all loved, and that theyre protected and that their dignity is affirmed.
...
Greg Abbott, the governor of Texas, said on Monday that the guidance violated the principle of separation of powers, and state officials there have signaled that they will seek to challenge it in court.
The president is turning the Constitution on its head, Mr. Abbott told Fox News. Hes trying to cram down as many parts of his liberal agenda on the United States of America as he possibly can before leaving office in January.

By drawing a line in the sand, Obama has taken a fruit stand.
May 1961, John F. Kennedy: “We will put men on the moon.”
May 2016, Barack H. Obama: “We will put men in the women’s bathroom.”
Not even most libs will go that far, because they don't have secret service protecting their own children (or themselves).
Obama still thinks he's the rising messiah of year 2008, people blindly follow whatever he says and does.
Barack Obama, the Potty Jihadi, defends his latest executive overreach:
“ bathrooms without borders”
A 15yo biological female that thinks she is a boy will definitely get her “dignity affirmed” in the boys shower. Yep. That’s the ticket.
/lurker mode off/ hmmm. the tranny toilet policy works so well in the family quarters and the rest of the white house. Obama can’t understand why the general US public is so ignorant - pause - UHHHHH - about the reality of LGBTQ bathroom usage and related sexual dalliance bathroom activity. Back in chicago, man country and boys town — no confusion at all. (they really punch above their - UHHHH - punch above their weight.)
BHO will be so relieved when all of this Prez stuff is over. Never did he consider (before becoming Pres) that the public would be so ignorant about so many things. Or that other politicians would be so ignorant about so many things. Or that all the other world leaders would be so ignorant about so many things. And etc etc...
I hope Trump fights this issue soon.
The agenda is to distract everyone from the supreme court pick.
...The president is turning the Constitution on its head....
As if this is something new for him.
Schools can then go back to teaching the basics.
If this is not perilously close to “that time” that Claire Wolf told us about, I don’t know what is.
He probably went too far this time. Even liberals want their kids to be safe at school. They’ll be hypocrites and say they want one thing for everyone else yet won’t abide by it for themselves.
You may be right. Parents are mad and Trump needs to take a stand. Hopefully on the right side.
Every blue collar dem I talked to about this thinks the dem leadership is nuts on this issue. But they were all men. I’m not sure if women are getting the problem of men using women’s exclusive areas, or enough women anyhow.
As far as going to far, that would be a first. This reminds me of the ‘gay marriage’ thing 20 years before it was just imposed like it was really no big deal after all.

I sure didn’t get why he was so willing to take the heat for being spot on and common sense with Islamic immigration, and not this issue.
