An article gets into breaking by tagging the Breaking News button in the posting form. An admin mod can also move an article there, or of course, remove one.
I did not ask for the article to be removed. Many have been removed lately because of Trump/Cruz disagreements; flamewars. I read that article, I don’t recall anywhere in it that told an actual number of delegates that left. Why do you say it was half? Are you assuming or did I miss it in the article?
Thanks for the information, I have never used that section to post an article. So the admin mod liked the article. There are lots of articles that end of there without reason. This one did not belong.
When I left, around post 288, the tone seemed okay, it may have escalated.
That article from the Chicago Times referred to ‘many delegates’ leaving. Another used ‘nearly half,’ but IDK if nearly half = 50 Cruz delegates or 1/2 the entire delegation. Trump had 48 and Rubio a few. There are now dozens or articles on the convention in Dallas, many more than this morning.
I was going to post another related article by a Texan news outlet that interviewed Cruz in Dallas, but decided not to after the thread was pulled. If I find the distinguishable quote within, I will post it and see if the new thread can last.
From this article, they claim Sessions spoke to a crowd, “nearly half the size.”
So Texas delegates fly in for the weekend or drive 3-9 hours to Dallas and they can’t be bothered to listen to Senator Sessions address them. While Jeff speaks, some hold signs that say, “Thank you Ted” And the Delegates are there to represent 3 million R voters from Texas. Yea, don’t mess with Texas.
“Cruz welcomed by supporters waving Thank you Ted signs didnt even once utter the name of Donald Trump.”
“And he didnt talk about a need to unite behind Trump to beat Democratic presumptive presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, which rankled some delegates.”
I couldnt believe Cruz didnt say something about unifying behind the presumptive nominee, said Pat Carlson, a Fort Worth delegate, Trump supporter and former chairwoman of the Tarrant County Republican Party. He only gave his campaign speech.
“But the need to unite behind Trump was mentioned Saturday by a campaign surrogate for the billionaire, U.S. Rep. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala.”
“LETS PUT THIS TOUGH PRIMARY BEHIND US. ... WE CAN AND WILL UNITE.
U.S. Rep. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., a surrogate for Donald Trump”
“Sessions spoke about two hours after Cruz, to a crowd about half the size, but encouraged Texans to rally behind Trump who has promised to address key issues including the economy and immigration.”
This is a critical election, he said, as some delegates raised signs that read Thank you Ted and Go Trump. The American people are not happy.”
Lets put this tough primary behind us, he said. We can and will unite.
