BRISTOL Several motorists on the Indiana Toll Road were lucky to escape injury after a mailbox, concrete chunks and gallon jug of windshield washer fluid were thrown at cars from the C.R. 19 overpass on April 22.
Four vehicles were damaged from the debris in the area of mile marker 97.1 near Bristol shortly before midnight on April 22, according to an Indiana State Police press release issued on Monday. The only injury reported was a 17-year-old passenger in one of the vehicles, who was transported to Elkhart General Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
State Police found a significant amount of debris, including a white mailbox, a gallon jug of windshield washer fluid and several concrete chunks.
State troopers from the Toll Road and Bremen posts are performing extra patrols to look for anyone responsible. They are asking the public for any help identifying whoever threw the debris.
The state police has been actively working this investigation since the night of the occurrence, said Sgt. Trent Smith, spokesman for the State Police Bremen Post. Extra patrols have been added to the area on the Toll Road to include utilizing troopers from the Bremen Post.
State Police Det. Mike Robinson said whoever is responsible for throwing debris off the overpass could face level 5 felony charges.
Robison said its unfortunate that senseless acts like this even happen. He believes everyone involved in this incident is lucky that it didnt lead to a crash or any more injuries.
Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact the Indiana State Police Toll Road Post at 574-206-2931.
Attempted murder.
Here in NJ the overpasses throughout the ‘hood have special fencing to prevent this; they curve towards the sidewalks above and have much smaller spaces between links to prevent ferals from dropping anything significant onto People That Matter...
Ditto on the west bank of the Delaware.
some assholes killed a woman here in GA doing that in 1990. Eric prince and Eric Waugh - both still serving life sentences as far as I know.
Just practicing for the Republican Convention
Happened in Jacksonville fla in the 90s also.
Many overpasses around NYC have curved fencing that extends above the head of people and has smaller openings in the wire than standard fencing. I have to believe it saves many lives, as there are soooo many knuckle walking brain dead pieces of ambulatory sludge around here with way too much time on their hands and way too little between their ears.
That’s what they did at RNC2008. Dropped sacks of concrete on delegate busses.
Then we'll see how f-----g funny they are...

Murder and attempted murder should be rewarded with sentence of life imprisonment at productive labor. No parole but certainly release and some compensation for anyone wrongly convicted. No murderer should ever be walking free in general society.
“ambulatory sludge “
Nice turn of a phrase!
There is a nauseating bleeding heart site here that lists the details of the story if you can get through it without gagging. LIke I said One of the a..holes is out of parole, and the other is still in prison, and from the description of his actions that is where in my opinion he should remain.
THE WOMAN THEY MURDERED IS STILL DEAD, and if they both rotted in prison that would still not be enough
I read a sci-fi story decades ago about how commuter trains had evolved to counter attacks by urban ferals. Random passengers were assigned to machine guns on the cars, ala tail and belly gunners in bombers.
That seemed pretty over the top when I read it then.
