THE TREE OF LIFE

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through Him." (John 3:16,17).

One night I was watching a movie. At the end, the cowboy turned and put the name of his girlfriend in the window of his car for all to see. Then he put his arm around her and pulled her close. It has long been a custom for lovers to carve their initials in the trunk of a tree. Today, young romantics spray paint them on freeway overpasses or walls of abandoned buildings. It's the same sort of idea.

Once, in high school, a boy carved my name in a heart-shaped wood sculpture. It was a long time ago, but the memory of being claimed that loudly, that openly has never left me. Who doesn't want to be loved like that? Wouldn't it be nice if there was someone to put all our names on the windows of a car, or a license plate, or a tree? Unfortunately, the names on windows, license plates and trees change. Some are left out, and some are never written at all.

Once, long ago, there was another kind of tree; and this tree was able to hold all our initials. They were carved deeply for all to see, and they will never be crossed out. That tree was made into a cross, the cross where Jesus died. A King has claimed you and me. He has put His arm around us and pulled us close. He has put our names where they can be seen for eternity. Could anyone really love me that much? Sometimes it is hard to trust, even harder to believe, but the initials are there for all to see. And there they will remain FOREVER.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, no one has ever loved me as You have. I ask that You come into my life today. Forgive me of my sins and teach me Your ways. Amen

LCDR Bettie J. Davis, CHC, USN

"....and he said, "Listen, all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem and King Jehoshaphat; thus says the Lord to you, 'Do not fear or be dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours but God's.

~ You need not fight in this battle; station yourselves, stand and see the salvation of the Lord on your behalf, O Judah and Jerusalem.' Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out to face them, for the Lord is with you."

2 Chronicles 20:15, 17

Hey there, PRO!

Glad you had such a good time at the range with your nephew yesterday.

I gather the rain was nice enough to wait til you got the lawn mowed today?

It was windy and brisk here all day. It was warmer when I left the house this morning than it was when I came home this afternoon. The weatherman says we could possibly dip into the upper 30s tonight! EEEEK!! I hope he’s wrong!

Kittehs are fine though a couple of them are being pests tonight. The rest are laid out like roadkill throughout the house.

He Who blessed our forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - may He bless the fighters of the Israel Defense Force, who stand guard over our land and the cities of our G-d from the border of the Lebanon to the desert of Egypt, and from the Great Sea unto the approach of the Aravah, on the land, in the air, and on the sea.

May HASHEM cause the enemies who rise up against us to be struck down before them. May the Holy One, Blessed is He, preserve and rescue our fighting men from every trouble and distress and from every plague and illness, and may He send blessing and success in their every endeavor.

May He lead our enemies under their sway and may He grant them salvation and crown them with victory. And may there be fulfilled for them the verse: For it is Hashem, your G-d, Who goes with you to battle your enemies for you to save you.

G-d bless and keep your children safe, Alouette.

LOL, that paints a great mental picture! Kittehs DO like their sleep!

I did mow early enough before the rains came.

Now just mellowing out and enjoying the FReep!

It’s a sight to behold in every room of the house. LOL! It also makes the house an obstacle course. Gotta watch where we step.

Nice of the weather to cooperate today. It stinks to have a lopsided lawn due to rain halting the operation mid way.

It’s been dry enough here we haven’t had to mow for a while, which is nice. It’s also allowed clover to bloom and it smells so nice outside these days. The bees love it too. A friend has a couple of hives set up here and that clover honey is some kind of deeeeeeeelicious.

With all the distraction (2 trips to PHX 7 back), nothing has been truly started or attained, yet.

I like Gabby’s spelling. LOL!

I only have to move the sprinkler one more time and watering will be done...front and back.

I’ve gotten several threads done ahead of time, and paperwork is stacked up ready for filing. Still working on desktop cleaning. My computer guy is coming over tomorrow and try to figure out what the problem is with my laptop. My computer patience is being taxed.

And running back and forth for Mom stuff. “I want to go out on the deck.” OK...so I get her out on the deck, but she keeps asking me questions. What about this, want about that??? I don’t make any of her flower decisions.

AND...we’ve have fire engines out front and 5 helicopters all lined up. Hallucinations are getting more and more frequent. This morning it was guys working in the back yard...they have been there for months, not.

Gabby’s a pain in the hiney but she’s a sweet pain in the hiney and that’s why she’s allowed to live. LOL!

Y’all should get some rain now that you’ve watered the lawn. It’s supposed to work like waxing your car does. :-)

You accomplished quite a bit today! YAY!!! I hope the computer guy can figure out what’s going on with your laptop. It’s been hinky for a long time.

Hubby happened to walk into the room as I read about the fire trucks and helicopters and burst out in guffaws. He just stopped and stared at me wondering WTH???
Hoo-wee, you do have your hands full with her, don’t you?
