It’s just about word for word what Trump says every time he addresses the issue.

The fact they mention differences says that Ryan is unlikely to come around anytime soon.

Curious what it is Ryan thinks he has done or what positions he has that are conservative. He’s been in DC for 17 years and has nothing to show that would make a case that he is conservative.

This is just a joint declaration of war.And as such is necessary, but not much substance yet.

Bottom Line, Ryan blundered and now needs to save face. This statement reveals that he is now on the train.

On The Conservative Treehouse someone has posted a picture...a photo of Trump and the words (more or less):
Send me to the wolves and I’ll return leading the pack.

This seems to be a nice way for Ryan and the non-neverTrumpers in the GOP to move to support Trump in a face saving manner.
Yes while Paul Ryan Boehner works behind Trumps back to undermine him in any way possible.
I hope Donald Trump never ever trusts that he will be treated fairly by any of them, no matter what anyone says.
Most of all Paul Ryan-Boehner has to go.
No matter what.

Trump has the nations attention yes, because Obama has transformed our nation into a 19trillion dollar mess, trashed our Constitution, allowed thousands of illegals to enter sans law, many of those are Muslims....who want to kill us....these are a few of what has made Donald Trump so appealing....note to Trump:
Mr. Trump do not play footsie with the status quo, stay the course of bringing sanity back the USA....close our borders and refuse entry to Muslims until we know who is here now!!! anything less is not an option....

Well at least Speaker Ryan will not become contentious. Both sides had to present themselves as reasonable, hoping to work things out.
But Ryan did not endorse Trump, nor did Trump give in to Ryan's demands.
We know there is a lot going on behind the scenes, and that the GOPe has not given up.
Ryan has become the face of the anti-Trump movement. The time to celebrate will be when Ryan endorses Trump.

Far too wordy, however:
“...we are totally committed to working together to achieve that goal(stop Hillary)...”
is the most important take away which translates into “the GOPe is ready to work with Trump” and is going to quit the “brokered convention possibility” game.
To: jimjohn
Positive step? How much longer will Ryan prolong this crap? If I were Trump, I would demand that Ryan step down now as Chairman of the Convention.

“A Joint Statement from House Speaker Paul Ryan and Donald J. Trump”
This is excellent. The statement reads like it was written almost entirely by the Trump people with some input from Priebus and Ryan.
Trump shows intelligence and judgment by not escalating the media inspired disagreement. Ryan is allowed to both back down and also save face. Ryan supports the first priority of defeating Hillary Clinton. They should be able to work together in the future. The Romney, Kristol, Lindsey Graham, Clinton alliance lost.
To: winoneforthegipper
Ryan needs to endorse Trump NOW! And while he’s at it, he needs to denounce Mitt Romeny’s for his anti-Trump diatribes.
