Iran would drown U.S. warships if they pose a threat to the Middle Eastern country, warns a commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy.
"Wherever the Americans look in the Persian Gulf, they will see us"
"They know that if they commit the slightest mistake, we will drown their vessels in the Persian Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz, or the Sea of Oman," he added.
Rear Adm. Fadavi's comments came while he was speaking on the state-controlled Press TV.
The Islamic Republic's enemies are not aware of the country's full military capabilities, noted the commander, highlighting the Iranian Navy's alleged defense might.
Fadavi, shedding light on the American military presence said, "The US has attracted regional and non-regional allies in the waters forming an unnatural military array," reported state-controlled Mehr News Agency (MNA).
"Passing through territorial waters is possible under certain regulations," noted Fadavi adding, "Accordingly, they have not crossed Iranian waters for numerous years."
He reiterated that U.S. presence in the Persian Gulf "is an absolute evil."
Fadavi reportedly claimed that the IRGC has underground facilities equipped with surface-to-sea missiles and a number of vessels.
"Americans are aware that Iran would destroy their warships if they take a wrong measure in the region," declared the IRGC Navy commander, rejecting the joint naval patrols in the Persian Gulf by "Britain, U.S. and France."
"Upon Iran's request, Persian speakers are present on almost all American warships in the Persian Gulf as MOST conversations were conducted in Farsi during recent detention of U.S. marines by the IRGC Navy," added Fadavi.
Innocent passage in both water and air space of the Persian Gulf would not be granted to American vessels and drones...

We may possibly be putting a Republican in the White House. That won't help matters that much when Congress which controls how many troops and ships we have could care less about our military. If anyone wants proof? The Clinton cuts were done under a six year GOP two house majority. What did they do under W? Nothing but empower the Executive Branch for Obama to use.
I don't see any changes coming military strength wise without a voter revolt in the house and senate elections continuing each election for the next decade.

The year was 1980, just prior to the inauguration of the newly elected U.S. President, Ronald Reagan. In Iran, there were American Embassy personnel held hostage for over a year, since the Iranian Red Guard overran that embassy, after deposing the regime of The Shah of Iran.
During the time of the outgoing President, Jimmy Carter, the U.S. was perceived as having no balls, to include failed military rescue operations of these personnel.
Ronald Reagan was perceived as taking no crap, and one to be wary of.
So, in the first 24-hour period AFTER Reagan was inaugurated, the Iranians started negotiations to release those personnel, quickly.
They are safe to do it while the Muslim is in office, but after that, they will pay if Hillary loses.
