U.S. will not seek death penalty for accused ringleader in Benghazi attacks

The Justice Department announced Tuesday that it will not seek the death penalty against Ahmed Abu Khattala, 54, a U.S.-designated terrorist whom prosecutors accuse of leading the 2012 attacks in Benghazi, Libya, that killed four Americans.

The announcement, contained in a notice to the federal trial court in Washington, clears the way for a major terrorism trial in the nation’s capital, the first in the United States since 2015, barring a plea agreement by Abu Khattala.

Obviously killing American ambassadors in a terror attack on the ambassy, which is US territory, does not merit the death penalty, according to Obama-Clinton government.

Something to remember.

Is this a civilian trial? If so can I ask why he doesn’t get a trial in a military tribunal? This again points up how we treat these terror attacks as a civilian legal criminal issue, rather than as acts of war.

Not too serious a crime; punishment fits the crime; shoplifters beware, however.

This is NOT about the guy who did an anti- Islamic terror video that Hillary tried to blame for inciting the attack by making those poor terrorists upset — this is about the terrorist leader who actually attacked the embassy and murdered the ambassador and other Americans in there.

Uh, does defense wish to call any witnesses.

Yes, your honor, the defense wishes to call Madam Secretary Hillary Clinton. We believe she can shed some light on this situation.

How absolutely disgraceful and asinine.

Obama, through his justice department is telegraphing to the Islamic Terrorists that if you plan and carry out attack an American consulate and kill an American ambassador, you will not die for it if we catch you.

Disgraceful...the people projecting such information and excusing such terrorists are internal enemies to the United Sates...but that is nothing new.

Ten Republican senators broke ranks and sided with Democrats to get Lynch over the 50-vote threshold:

Kelly Ayotte (N.H.)
Orrin Hatch (Utah)
Lindsey Graham (S.C.)
Susan Collins (Maine)
Jeff Flake (Ariz.)
Mark Kirk (Ill.)
Rob Portman (Ohio)
Thad Cochran (Miss.)
Ron Johnson (Wis.)
Mitch McConnell (Ky.).

And yes, I know Lynch is obeying Obama to do this.
