Just in case Budweiser's galloping horse-filled commercials overlaid with text like "not soft," "not small," "not imported" wasn't a tipoff, the beer company wants you to know that theyre American as apple pie. (Well, except for the fact that theyre owned by Belgian corporation Anheuser-Busch, but let's not get bogged down in minutia.) The company will double down on its patriotism this summer when it renames itself "America."

Second rate swill ... mind-numbing ... makes people pee ... then puke and pass out when taken in large enough quantities ... touted by Democrat politicians ... yep, it's a brilliant marketing ploy all right!
Nothing says Belgian like “America”
A few years back Budweiser had to go to court to secure the name “Budweiser”, because there was an European town called Budweiser that brewed “Budweiser beer”, crazy world.
I actually had a bud a couple of months back, first time in years.
As an IPA guy I could hardly taste it.
My late B-I-L was a Bartender when he was younger.
He always said Budweiser was the first second choice.
A Customer asks for a certain Beer and he tells them they don’t carry it. The Customer then says, OK give me a Bud.
I’m as patriotic as anyone, but this is worse that silly.
Sales will plummet.
This is the end of more than a name.
I’m a big Bud drinker, off and on.
Not any longer.
The purpose of renaming is to boost the sale $$$.
Other beer drinkers (beer drinkers who don’t like Budweiser) will just roll their eyes.
You rank it that high? I can't stand AB brews. Don't know what makes it so off-putting to me.
I can tolerate Busch beer, and like their O'Douls offerings.
Busch beer is good at removing toilet bowl rings.
This happened to me a few months ago. Went out for some wings and Monday Night Football and they were out of the beer I wanted to drink that night. Looked over the available beers on tap and asked for a pint of Bud. Hadn’t had one in a few years. It was pretty good. Clean tasting and cold. Just right for a night of football and wings.
Real Budweiser is Czech.
And they are not even an American owned corporation aymore
I drink a lot of Budweiser for the precise reasons. Clean, cold, refreshing.
Lots of haters on FR of late.
I had a Bud recently; I hadn’t had one since I was a teenager. Doesn’t taste bad; the problem is the next morning (if you have many). When I paid more for better stuff, it was always with an eye towards the next morning...
The taste isn’t really that bad, as an American lager goes, it’s that it uses rice as an adjunct, and always seemed to give me terrible headaches.
I prefer Coors anyway. It’s more refreshing.
As if we don’t hear people say “America sucks!” enough.
In German, Badwasser.
