This story is an example why the republican party consistently loses against the progressive left. In response to the ridiculous, albeit recent, NC bathroom laws (which the MSM are having fun bashing conservatives on the head with) the Ted Cruz constituency wants to write bathroom laws into the 2016 republican party platform.
Yes, yes, unfortunately thats the modern right-wing cultural GOPe. Look over there, shiny thing, shiny thing quick, go chase it .. quick make a law to control it . bathrooms, gays, transgenders oh noes, the humanity !
WASHINGTON DC After he lost the Republican nomination, Sen. Ted Cruzs backers will now reportedly pivot towards trying to gain control of the GOPs platform during the national convention.
According to The New York Times, top Cruz aide Ken Cuccinelli wrote in an email to supporters urging them to come to Cleveland in July to protect against liberal changes to our platform. Cuccinelli confirmed the effort to the Times, telling them that Cruzs backers seek to protect movement conservatism, including a firming of the partys core positions on abortion and the addition of language regarding transgender bathroom use.
We want to have girls go in girls bathrooms, he said, alluding to how presumptive nominee Donald Trump has taken a more liberal position than Cruz on which bathrooms transgender individuals can use. (read more)
Bathroom monitors? Really? Thats what the Ted Cruz wing of the republican party is worried about being the bathroom police?
Personally, Ive come to the conclusion the GOPe actually meets behind mahogany doors and picks out things -intentionally- to make issues out of and give the republican party the public appearance of insane nuttery. Ive come to believe they do this on purpose as party of the entire construct of the UniParty
. there can be no other reasonable explanation.

Word for word, please tell us exactly what Trump said about this matter.
No editorializing, no Cruz talking points, just the exact reply he gave to a question, please.
States Issue, not that of the Federal Government.
Sounds like an elementary school rule. Really? Cruz is a nutjob.
Really? Is that REALLY what you think this is about?
And digger48 favors government regulations issued by unaccountable bureaucrats to FORCE businesses, schools, and churches to allow men and boys to use girls' showers, locker rooms, and restrooms whenever they want. (or did somebody misrepresent your position on the issue?)
https://theconservativetreehouse.com/ is an excellent site.
The point is that Ted Cruz trying to call attention to this issue is a distraction we cannot afford at this time. Cruz is trying to retain some press attention. There are so many important issues that Republicans, Independents and patriot Americans of many backgrounds can agree on, we should not encourage fragmentation of the party on hot button social issues that belong in the State purview in any case. We cannot enforce the laws that we might want to pass without bathroom monitors which would be an infringement on privacy & liberty and a step towards a totalitarian regime.
We can not afford to go haring after every rabbit that darts across our path. The party needs to elect its candidate and avoid Hillary. Any maneuvering that jeopardizes the election of the Republican candidate is an enemy action.
Cruz has shown he is willing to burn the farm if he can’t have it. Ryan is throwing hissy fits about his prerogatives. The Bushs & Romney are in snits. The bathroom issue needs to be handled by existing law and we need to work towards rebuilding our country and dismantling the PC nonsense that is corrupting our society.
“right-wing cultural GOPe”
Pro-pervert or GOPe.
Ya gotta pick.
Nope. I was just being intentionally as ridiculous as the poster I was replying to.
You’re not serious.
And you think your comment was?
LOL
Excerpt: In 2015 the DOE warned the Township High School District 211 in Palatine that unless they gave a biologically male student unfettered access to the girls' locker rooms they would revoke $6 million in federal funding.
This is a sucker issue. Cruz is pandering to rubes.
This is no different than the poison pill amendment to the constitutional marriage amendment.
Yes.
You either support men “having the right” to expose themselves to women and girls or you don’t.
HUH?
The NC bathroom laws — stipulating that men use mens rooms and women use womens rooms — is “ridiculous”?
Where is what you wrote in the article?
I missed it.
Idiotic

Good article until here. Few people do sarcasm well. I wish they would stop trying.
Exactly, get through the election and then dismantle Title IX, problem solved at least in the schools.
Trump says that education will be run at the State & local levels in his term so the whole issue of the Feds controlling the kinds of social programs that are taught, the sexualization and moral relativity of the curriculum & the rewriting of history (not to mention, new math) may vanish.
It is a local issue.
No, because we understand that these are local issues not Federal ones.
And right here on FR we see expressed the most liberal, anti-Christian viewpoint imaginable. You should be ashamed of yourself!
YES! Boys should be peeing in the boy's room, and girls should use the girl's room. And above all, we need to protect girls and women against this madness of biological men invading their toilets and shower rooms.
